Guys, how do us girls tell the difference... between;

1. a guy friend who just wants to have sex but has no romantic feelings,

2. A guy friend who likes you and has real romantic feelings

3. A guy friend who just genuinely wants to be friends.

How can we tell what's what, assuming the guys in question are not gay.

I'm not a guy but I know that if they just want to be friends and want to make sure you know, they:

- Tell you if they're that straight forward.

- Don't spend time alone with you. You hang out in a group.

- They won't make a move soon after they've met you ('cause men don't want to get friendzoned).

- They won't behave any differently around you than they would a guy, so they won't soften their jokes or anything like that.

- They wouldn't initiate chat much virtually outside your friendship group. I mean guys who have only been friends, we hang out when we see each other but we don't talk on Facebook and have IM conversations.

- If they don't like you, they obviously won't mind mentioning stuff about other women unless they are playing some mind game with you (I mean some guys do that).

Guys want most women to be romantic with them. Rarely do they just want a friendship straight off the hop.

All my married male friends, except for one. They don't have any female friends they do things with on a regular basis.
