BlueIris Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I have a coffee meet-up this afternoon from OLD and I wonder if I should just cancel. I KNOW this guy isn't going to be a match because he's a high-profile PR sales type, very urban and polished. Even though I live in an area like that and I sort of look like that for work purposes, I’m a very small town, dig in the dirt and walk in the woods kind of person. I’d far rather grow raspberries than go to chic restaurants to sample their famous raspberry desserts. Should I call and cancel? 1
PegNosePete Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Maybe he also just looks like that for work purposes? No, don't judge people on their "type". Judge them on their individuality. Why did you even arrange a meeting in the first place if you don't like his "type"? 4

I agreed to a few meetings and this is the last one. We talked on the phone for an hour and it was a really good conversation. So, yeah, you're right. 2
Erik30 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Just go, he might surprise you and maybe also likes doing stuff outdoors. If It turns out he's not your type at all, you'll never have to see him again. You have nothing to lose. 2
Mrs. John Adams Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I agree .. go... what can it hurt? You would not like it if he cancelled. It's a cup of coffee.. and a break from work lol You might really be surprised by the guy! 2
Author BlueIris Posted December 14, 2016 Author Posted December 14, 2016 I just had to update: If you ever wonder if you should go on a first date, go. Definitely go. 4
eightytwenty Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Go! Might not turn out the way you want. I'm the dirt digger horse person and the fiancé is the polished business man... Sometimes we have the right personality to match even if our interests are different. 1
