How Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 (edited) My girlfriend is turning 23 on the 30th of this month. I have already made reservations for her favorite restaurant. I had bought her a heart-shaped necklace but I want to make something for her in addition. I thought maybe a card with a cute poem, but I'm not sure if that would be cheesy or not. We have been together just over a year. Edited December 12, 2016 by How 1
Blackened Heart Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Definitely something you made yourself. When you give a gift in where you put actual time and effort to make, it is appreciated 100× more than something that was bought. 1
DarrenB Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 If she likes poems and such, then I don't see any harm in doing so. I'm sure it'd be appreciated regardless. Personally, I used to write poems about an ex with other gifts on each monthly anniversary we had (she really was intrigued by the poems so I thought it was a great idea), it worked a treat! It's the sentimental value that counts after all. Go ahead 1
Gloria25 Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I think the card and poem is cool. Just don't go all Edgar Allan Poe creepy with it
AngelaDuran Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Hi there, last week on my friend's birthday, I gift her personalized hand stamped necklace which looks trendy and she told me that this gift was her best gift. So this can be the option for you. 1
mamarunner5 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 It sounds like a good plan, to make a nice card and something heartfelt written is great. My husband liked when we were dating I made a scrapbook of pictures of us, with blurbs written about memorable moments and dates, I called it the story of us, and it was how we fell in love. I printed some of our early emails and attached them throughout it as well, and left pages blank to keep updating as time passed. It has been one of his favorite gifts!
