Like this one guy recently asked me out, and I haven't responded because I'm not really sure if I want to meet him. There's next to nothing written in his profile and his messages to me were really short. So he sends a second email "not interested?" and I said, "well I haven't really decided yet, since I don't know much at all about you...your profile doesn't say much and you haven't said much to me about yourself either". Anyway so often if you get no response, it may not be that we're not interested, we're just on the fence. Which means you can still do or say something to sway us in your favor.

That's kind of interesting to hear. I've had a few of these lately.

Chat a bit, good conversation, ask to meet - no reply.

I think part of the reason is I've started asking people out pretty quickly, based on the high number of posts on LS complaining that guys just want to message and wont meet up. But I think there are a lot of women that just wont meet up until they think they know you.

Really I'd rather meet quickly and see if there is any chemistry before wasting a lot of time and energy trying to woo someone before I even meet them. It's hard to get enthusiastic about some electronic representation of a person.

I met this girl on a dating app and we finally decided to meet up. Our first date was 3 days ago and I thought it went really well. No awkward moments and it was just very enjoyable. The only thing I noticed about her is that she responds to texts at least 3 hours later to at most a day after I have sent the text. We are both working and we are both looking for long term relationships and it felt like there was a spark between us. HAHA maybe that's just me. I have no idea if she's really busy with work, playing mind games or plainly not interested in me. How do I approach this situation? I have been in a very bad breakup a year and a half ago and this was the first time that I have gone on a date with someone. I don't know what to do tbh. Please help :(. Thanks!

Honestly, I think you might be over-thinking things just a bit for right now. Unless she's given you other "red flags", I wouldn't take her delay in text messaging response too personally.

Honestly, I feel like people have grown accustomed (UNFORTUNATELY) to people responding to text messages, that now they feel entitled to a response back immediately after they send a text. Newsflash...Some people are really busy and keep their phones on silent, some only respond when they aren't in the middle of something else, some people actually HATE texting, or others just only respond at certain times a day.

Plus, I figure that if someone REALLY wants to get in touch with me, they will CALL me (remember when we used to use phones to actually call people?? :p ).

So, I don't think this is anything against you OP, and I don't think she's playing games. As long as she's accepting your offers for dates, is hanging out with you, being engaging in person, having a good time, etc... I honestly think there's nothing wrong, especially if you two aren't even bf/gf yet.

Right now just focus on how you feel when you're around her in PERSON. Sometimes I think in-person communication can tell you more things than texting ever can.

I say cut her some slack. You will know eventually if she's just playing games.

I agree w/ @SoThatHappened.....I prefer phone calls if I'm interested in a guy. Cut out the meaningless text messages. Sometimes it kills attraction if it's done TOO much. A "Good morning beautiful!" text is nice every once in a while, or maybe just a text here and there every couple of days is cool. But long-drawn out conversations via text? Naaa.... I hate that.

I'd MUCH rather hear the guy's sexy voice over the phone...:love: It makes conversations sooo much better imo. I even told my last ex that I preferred to chat over the phone, and he said he always texted because he didn't want to "bother" me. I told him... "nonsense! You're never 'bothering' me.... I love to get your phone call. If I can't talk at the moment, I'll just call you back!" ;) From then on...he called :D
