Is it normal that he pees sitting down?

He says it prevents splash, mess and smell (wtf?)

His mom raised him like a girl so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it, or if we've been too conditioned to think men should only pee standing up. His reasons make sense (I don't understand the smell aspect). I've just never encountered a man who peed sitting down before...

Does he make a mess? If he doesn't, then be happy about it. Seriously, man urine all around the toilet is absolutely disgusting.

He makes a mess anywhere he goes, he's not a very tidy person. No urine complaints tho :)

Want to know something funny? In Germany it's now the law that a man has to sit when he pees. I think it's called sitzentinkeln.

Oh, that crazy Merkel banned urinals and had them put up signs in washrooms admonishing men to not stand and pee but instead turn around and sit down for it like proper metrosexuals.

I am basically lazy. I do what's easiest.

I often pee sitting down, especially at night when it's dark and I'm groggy.

If I'm wearing tight jeans or in a public bathroom then I'll stand because again, I'm lazy and it's easier.

So yeah, totally normal I think. Hey most women would be grateful he leaves the seat down right?

This is an issue

I don't think it matters and it certainly isn't only a woman thing.. men sit down to do number 2 and guess what.. we pee at the same time too

I pee sitting down at night only so I don't fully wake up and so I don't wake up my wife...

Now.. if you meet a woman who pees standing up look out

oh... maybe he has that whole fork stream thing going, when that happens only one side of the fork can make it in the toilet if you are standing...

Lol yes, this definitely doesn't go both ways

What an issue to nitpick on, OP! I mean, honestly. My guy stands, but why would he be any different if he chose to sit?

Does your sexual dissatisfaction with him (I recall you posted a thread about him not being able to get hard) have anything to do with this? Could this just be a symptom of how you feel towards him in general? I'm asking because I can't understand how anyone would consider this an issue in an otherwise good R. Not attacking you, just trying to figure out the root of this concern.

Meh, I do that in really dirty toilets that have gross toilet seats. Far better to push the seat up and just half-stand rather than get that crap on your butt or get your hands dirty cleaning the seat for them.

LOL.

I always sit down at home because I don't like cleaning my bathroom every day. I also sit down at friends houses.

Does it makes you a man to mark your territory with piss like a dog? Or is it just gross and lazy?

I cannot confirm that in Germany men now are forced to sit down.

To answer your question, no it's not normal. I don't know any men who pee sitting down.

I'm a sitter, and proud of it! Haha

I've never heard of it but I hope it catches on ....:)

There's nothing worse than getting up in the middle of the night, half asleep, with bare feet and walking into drips of pee-pee on the bathroom floor

Who cares? Is this really the worst thing you have to worry about in the relationship...

My husband sits. Complains about his schlong hitting the water, but does it anyway.

Are you sure that's a complaint, not a boast? ;)

"Damn, that water was cold. And deep, too."

I dunno. I can't see peeing sitting down unless I was more than halfway to paralyzed.

My ex hubby was raised to sit down, we then raised our sons to sit down when they pee and so it goes. Nothing weird about it at all. I mean, something they primarily do at home, not like at some shady truck stop on Route 66 :p

It's just an option that makes a lot of sense when you share a bathroom with women.

Live and let live.

It's not normal to me. I prefer a man to stand up to pee. It turns me off to a certain degree (which would be constant) but it won't kill me.

Guys do make a mess aiming for the bowl from a distance, so I'd say it's pretty considerate. :)

And btw yes women can pee standing up lol. Isn't exactly natural but there's no physiology preventing it. (Anyone who's done water sports knows this. ;))

I've practiced my aim in the shower; getting pretty good at it.

In case of FIRE, it'll come in handy.

If I'm out I always use a urinal, but at home I'll often sit. I've read that it's supposed to be better for your body.
