blueberry13 Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 not sure why I occasionally need to come here to clarify my opinions but I suppose it helps. It might sound silly but even as a grown mom in early 40's with an alarm system in a somewhat big house, there was a loud noise in the middle of the night from downstairs. It sounded like something heavy and metal dropped to the floor. Usually I just might check things out myself but I got nervous and woke my husband telling him I heard a loud noise. Was he ever mad. He got up and started saying "I can't believe you woke me up, now because I'm up - you follow me and go downstairs and start looking. If I have to go down then you do too. I went down also to help look what it might have been, and he's saying , I can't believe you dragged me out of bed. He carried on even in the morning. It is a rare occasion I might wake him - but his aggressive mean tone is terrible. Let it slide bc it was the night, or why can't I depend on him to be kind and supportive and occasionally selfless.
thickburger Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Sounds like a dick move, but was this a one-off or does this happen all the time? Maybe he was having a happy dream Either way, me personally I would never think of responding like that unless this was a very frequent occurrence - and even then address it differently.
understand50 Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 blueberry13, I know what I do when my wife wakes me up. I get up, grab my pistol and go down stares and look. I rather be "Silly" then "Sorry" Turn on lights as I come down, as if the worst is awaiting me, I want them to run away. It has always been nothing, except for one time, where someone was trying to break in. Let the dog out, and that took care of that. There are bad people, and 999 out of a thousand, it is nothing. It is that one time, where you suffer. My advise, you get the the gun and know how to use it. It is better to be prepared, then not. My two cents...... 1
BetrayedH Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 He's the man of the house. It comes with the job. 2
Mr. Lucky Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 If I have to go down then you do too. Maybe he was scared to go down by himself? Hard to characterize his response without context. Is he usually resentful if you ask him to do something ??? Mr. Lucky
Poutrew Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 So did you ever find out what made the loud bang? Reason I ask is because this happened to me a few months ago, but I could never find the source... But yeah, I don't think I'd react the way your hubby did. It showed lack of compassion. Heck, you were scared and it was his job to protect you...
Mrin Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Waking me in the dead of night is a little like waking a vampire. 9 out of 10 times it is no big deal. But that one time you might find my hand around your throat (figuratively). But I usually come to pretty quickly. Odd that this lasted until the next day.
