My ex is now married- we don't have much contact but I keep up with his social media every so often. He broke up with me because he wasn't ready to marry but met his now wife shortly after. We have kept things cordial over the years since then. I am now married and happy and don't harbor romantic feelings for him.

We are both writers, me as a hobby and him professionally. Today, he posted a poem he wrote about his wife that contains very distinct stylistic parts of one of mine, my best and most unique work so far; the poem is praising how amazing she is and how no one measures up to her, etc-

I don't know whether or not this was intentional, I hope not. I'm hurt that something I worked so hard on was in a sense taken from me and twisted around, especially to speak about how apparently I do not measure up. I suppose these things can happen by accident; I would have been upset in any sense that my work and creativity have been compromised but the subject matter of it just seems cruel.

I could really just smack him right now... :( this is just kind of ****ed up. I would like to unfriend him and just wish him along his merry way and completely disconnect, I think that is probably best since we are not together anymore anyway. I suppose inside I know my talents and strength but it sucks to feel like something like that can be disrespected, like the deepest part of me. :(

Thats kind of a rude swipe at you.

However, I am not a writer but have a writers mind.

Trust in your self to be fliud and better will come.

The best way to deal with someone who pokes at you is to ignore them and make them feel as if they don't matter enough to respond.

Then when you feel you have the controls I would say to delete him from your life .

Few old relationships are worth keeping open as friends on any level.

Potentially damaging for future ones.
