I can understand what you mean OP. I spent years with larger men and body building types so when I had a bunch of thin guys asking me out it took me some time to get used to it. Sexual aggression is a turn on to me so I like the idea of being overpowered by a strong, big man. It may or may not work for you but I have found myself dating more and more thin men lately and I've been good with it. Enough attraction is there to grow. I totally understand the insecurity side of things.

I have the metabolism of a hummingbird on crack (5'8", 145 lbs.)

I can only gain weight through building muscle, and it's actually harder for me to gain 5 pounds than it is for most people to lose 20.

A girl I met had left a 250-lb guy she was with for a long time, and then she meets me and she just wasn't used to the difference.

She's also curvy in the correct sense of the word (thin waist, bigger hips, nice breasts).

She was immediately self-conscious about it. Worried that if she dated me, she'd be dating a guy who's jeans she couldn't even fit into.

Well, the guy I am eventually shone through, and she turned around and found she liked when she could feel the body of a guy who, although skinny, is also very toned and athletic.

I don't advise trying to push yourself to like him, just that giving things some time may eventually workout.

I've had the same experiences as Miss Peach

I was used to dating guys into body building, big muscley guys that loved to use their strength to toss me around.....I went crazy for it

The last guy I dated (he was a bad guy but thats neither here nor there) was tall but skinny and not very toned. When I first met him I wasnt attracted to his body type but I gave him a chance and I actually began to be very attracted to his body type for some strange reason. I thought he was fyyyne by the end of the first month....however he was horrible in bed but you cant determine how someone is going to conduct themselves under the sheets based on their body type

I too would never date a guy that was smaller than me....but that would be pretty tough as I'm 5'1 size 6 in the U.S. But I simply cannot date short guys despite my height....the 6 inch heels give me a boost and I like guys that give me the feeling of overpowering and protecting me....so below 5'9....nope

OP, we all have our preferences/deal breakers and theres nothing wrong with that but give this guy a chance for alittle while. He might grow on you :)

Says the short girl? lol I actually figured that women you're height would be okay with shorter guys.

You're only 5'1" and count the 6-inch heels (not too many women do this) towards your height and you dismiss any many shorter than 5'9"? Pretty sad.

Has anyone hesitantly dated someone with a completely different body type and had attraction grow?

My wife was the first very heavy woman I dated - over the years she's fluctuated back and forth between size 16 and 26. She's 5'4" and I'm 6'0" - even at my lowest weight (160) during our relationship, I was hands-down the shortest and heaviest compared to her past BFs.

As far as dealing with the hesitancy goes, that's really a long-term game with a lot of pros and cons to sort through. If you don't see anything really special in this guy, move on to someone you're more attracted to.

Hasn't that been one of your biggest complaints in your many threads here over the years?

LOL...yeah pretty much, but at least I'm not starting threads about that specific issue of an already small woman wanting a giant man.

Sorry....I wanted to add that a woman of that size 16, should be happy a thinner man is interested because most would pretty much stick to the ir own body type

Well, I agree. People should be judged for all of their qualities. Absolutely. :)
