My long distance ex of a year (technically 3 months officially but we were exclusive the entire year) and I broke up explosively exactly a week ago over petty arguments and me snooping, and the fact that he needs to figure himself out and he feels the relationship was rushed. I started no contact 3 days ago and on day 3 he caved and texted me to ask if I was okay.

He still wants talk to me because he doesn't want to lose me, and I agreed. He also said the break up may not be a forever thing and that who knows what will happen in the future, and that he still loves me to death no matter what.

I even brought up that if he finds someone else I can't do it, and he assured me he wouldn't and got me to relax. That night he said he was getting sleepy and told me to text him in the morning, then literally says "goodnight boo,

"Sorry that boo slipped, I hope you don't mind"

It took me by surprise, though I'm pretty sure that wasn't accident.

I admitted I got happy for a second then just said goodnight, so he repeats "well, goodnight BOO. LOVE YOU"

And I said the same back.

We've been texting all day today just like we used to just without the lovey talk, I want him back so I'm willing to take a break so we can both fix ourselves. My problem was constantly working myself up over girls he followed on social media, so I deactivated all of my accounts to prove to him I'd stop checking up on him and trust him.

Does anyone have experience with anything like this? Am I handling things correctly, is this positive?

Thank you for all your help. Bless all of you on this forum

Was the fact that he followed some females on social media the only thing that was making you not trust him?

Does anyone have experience with anything like this? -- You bet your sweet rear end that others have experienced something like this AND the smart ones had a clue or got one really fast.

He also said the break up may not be a forever thing

C'mon! Get real with yourself. You are allowing yourself to be put on hold until he figures his "****" out??????? Paleeze. He doesn't want to let go of a "sure thing" until he has something better. He probably had something he thought was better and it ended. You are handling it correctly.

Put on your big girl pants and keep moving.
