The holidays are coming up and my anxiety is already killing me. The last 2 years gave me the best thanksgivings and Christmas, spending amazing time with my ex and friends(these particular friends are now gone after the split). I'm trying start over again with life, but it's hard especially in my 30s.

What can I do to get through the holidays without being so blue and spiteful to everyone around me?

Make sure some needy children have something under the tree; visit the elderly who would otherwise be alone; sing the Hallelujah Chorus; offer to cover for someone who has kids and can't otherwise get off work; make fudge and take it to a neighbor you don't know very well; ring some bells for the Salvation Army... IOW, get outside of your own head and do for others.

I think sometimes, depending on severity of the situation and your mindset at the time, no matter how occupied you are or may be I feel there's nothing that will stop you from thinking and reminiscing during these times.

I don't think there's any real advice to resolve, or any solutions to help, other than saying it will be hard, and there may be sorrow, but it's something that you're going to have to deal with. Actually, I think a majority of us are so I guess in a way you can comfort yourself and definitely believe that you're not the only one.

Enjoy the Christmas period, enjoy the new years. Even though we are without our previous lovers, there's now a new era to find another. I'm sure you'll be fine, friend.

Well, there isn't necessarily anything wrong with being blue for the holidays. That seems to be a common phenomena these days. But spiteful? No need for that. Be grateful for the people around you. Your sadness stems from a lack of people after-all.

Other posters have provided good advice about keeping yourself busy and engaged. I found that to be an excellent method at my worst. Bake cookies (or learn to), get a head start on exercise for the new year, binge-watch some new series, read a thick book (or two).
