So I got over a girl I used to be infatuated with. What now?

I would. I'd like to see all pics with no makeup. I wonder how many men would sign up for a dating site that required no makeup from women and no hats or baseball caps from men in their photos?

I would! Only have two pics with a baseball cap of the 7-8 I have up. :-) I have seen plenty of women putting up 1/2 no-make up pics dispersed with their "dolled-up" pics. I kind of get the sense that more women are becoming more aware of many men's need to know what they look like under all the "stuff."

Or the guys should smile.....my GF said she had a few of them not reveal the Chiclets/missing teeth they had for teeth in their profile.

And A few smiling - with teeth exposed.

Ideally from multiple angles...

I would, my pics are all just me- no tools used to try and accentuate my attractiveness like shades, baseball caps or makeup (not that makeup applies in my case, but just for the record!). It would be an interestingly level playing field - seeing as to how the male equivalent of make up (muscles, status etc) takes years, if not decades, to apply compared to an hour in front of a mirror.

It would be interesting to see if women got the same levels of attention compared to a platform where make up shots are in heavy use.

Well, to be fair, the OP did not refer to online dating, I think he was talking about an in-person relationship. I think online dating is attractive to both men and women who want to deceive because it's easier to do online, than when you have first encountered and approached each other in person.

But, yes, online dating is filled with people who want to deceive and it would be nice to have a dating site that filters out these people.

Very true. I had to "coach" one of my good friends about that in her new foray into online dating. She wanted to put up pics that hid and deceived and I told her that she should put up more natural pics because the ones she chose left too much to the imagination and would scare men away because they would think the worst due to bad experiences they've had in the past.

Just wait until you start losing your hair and start wearing those baseball caps to cover it up....

Actually, they shave their heads like shiny cue balls wanting us all to think they're going for that look on purpose.

They sure do.

IMO makeup is just about contrast - ppl think things look more aesthetically appealing w sharper details and distinctions between light and dark, not washed out. Most makeup just enhances contrast.

If you're actually asking "why do women want to look good," I think that's self-explanatory.

So what do you suggest to a guy going bald? A comb over, a wig? This post just strikes me as bashing for no reason.

For the record I'm not going bald and don't wear a baseball cap. :)

Okay so I had two previous posts: I don't know why I still like her... and Why do women wear makeup, when it deceives? that are directed at and concerning this girl. If you guys don't want to read the whole thing, here's a recap about what happened, what I did, and what's going on now:

So 8 years ago, I met a girl who I thought was good looking, yet very mysterious. We hit it off fairly well and soon became good friends. I used to eat lunch with her every day and decided to ask her a couple of times if she wanted to hang out. She used to turn bright red and was speechless. One day she got dressed up really nice that showed off her fine legs and asked me if I wanted to be her boyfriend. I said no and felt bad about it. Didn't give it much thought for the longest time, until I ran into her again. I realized we had so much in common and fell in love with the idea of dating a girl who liked similar things.

I tried to get back into her life a handful of times, and instantly regretted turning her down. It was obvious she was hurt and it took a couple of years to find out that she viewed me as a "fake friend." This was once we were in college. I tried to apologize, but because I didn't reveal my feelings to her, it caused her to go into the girl's restroom and literally bawl her eyes out.

From then on, she grew and developed a huge grudge on me. It didn't matter who I dated, they were always ugly to this girl and she would gossip about me. I decided to just ignore her for a several years. Well it didn't matter how hard I ignored her, how hard I tried to shut her out, I was always wishing that I was her boyfriend.

Well I met my current girlfriend a couple years ago and felt that she was helping me overcome my huge crush on this girl that hated my guts. I never told my current girlfriend about this girl, and she thought it was weird that this girl would act out when she saw me with my girlfriend. Well this year, I found out that the girl who I literally had a crush on for 8 years, gotten married. She still glares at me, despite being married to a fairly decent looking guy.. I knew I had to get over her one way or another so here's what I did:

I decided to make a catfish account and began chatting with her online. She quickly fell for it, and loved the attention I was giving her, and not once did she ever bring up her husband. She also talked to me at certain times of the day, which indicated she only talked to me when he was probably out and working. There were times where she called me drunk on the phone (I gave her an internet phone number that I installed on my phone), basically inviting me over to fool around. In two weeks I got this girl who's not even married for a year, wanting to sleep with me!

Right there and then, I realized I dodged a bullet. I realized that this girl falls in love easy with attention! I immediately was disgusted with her. I told myself that I would have hated getting with her knowing that she is so easy to start an emotional affair with and that the Grass is definitely not Greener on the other side. I finally got her out of my system. I want tips on what to do, to become the loving caring boyfriend I always wanted to be to my girlfriend. Any suggestions?

What you learned here is that you carried a torch for a girl you didn't actually know very well or know her ethics. So take that away and get to know your present girlfriend and don't assume she's who you hope she is.

Do you consider yourself a stalker?

Op. Very very concerning behavior...

I have a feeling you're still not over it and will continue.

Do yourself a favor and seek therapy as to why you're obsessed with this girl for 8 YEARS.

I don't believe you. She moved on with her life. You have not.
