victoria88 Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 (edited) Please share with everyone a little bit about the best dates you have had. For those who have never had a date it would be quite cool to read about other people's amazing experiences. Thank you! Edited November 6, 2016 by victoria88
Gaeta Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 All the dates I had that I consider great dates were outside. I enjoy being out under the sun so an afternoon in a park, being at the fair, visiting garage sales, picnics, would be the best dates in my book.
carhill Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 IMO, the best date I can recall was actually a 'family date' where I took a lady and her two kids to the coast and we rode the steam train down the hill from Felton to Santa Cruz and spent the day at the boardwalk and beach, this some 25 years ago. She was the lady who ended up marrying the UPS guy because I moved too slow. Still, it ranks at the top of dates in my memory.
mushroomlol Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 The best date I ever had is seeing a play at the theater. It was a free show and we ended up sitting on the first row and saw the stage so well.
Toodaloo Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 It was a first date and it was long! Lasted 48 hours! Met in the mid morning and walked round a cathedral, then went to the bookies to place bets and had a wager between ourselves, watched the race while grabbing lunch at a pub. Went to a concert the following day and it was just so much fun. 1
Haydn Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 First date with my better half. Which actually wasn`t really a date. Just a night out with mutual friends. We both discovered our love of fart jokes. I managed to fall off my chair and spill beer all over myself. We adopted sign language at the bar, waving tenners etc.... I then fell over again, showering a huge bloke with `Happy hour` beer. Having pacified him with more beer. I saw her laughing her head off. Literally shaking. I thought `I`m in there` We ignored our own friends most of the night. We exchanged numbers and attempted to call each other at the same time after 2 minutes of leaving the pub. 3
Blackened Heart Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Not sure if it would be considered a "date" as it was a week long vacation but we were girlfriend/boyfriend so in a way could be considering dating still. It was a very long and exhausting event leading to everything but it's one of the best memories I have. On the day I was flying out (my flight was set to leave at like 11pm) I was working a half day, got last minutes errands done and was taken to the airport via a supershuttle, arriving and going through security very quickly. Thus having to wait about 2 hours before my flight. I flew into Mexico to meet my girl, who had driven four hours to get to the airport I was coming in from. When I land, my luggage was no where to be found in the terminal, and I start to panic because the next flight that both my girl and I are to catch was set to leave in about an hour and half. After a lot of confusion, the air company tells me my luggage had been moved ahead to the next airplane, despite having been told several times prior that I had to get my luggage and check it in again -.- I run through security to quickly meet up with my girl, give her a big kiss and she has food waiting for me knowing I had been up for 24 hours already. We chat for a while and board our plane for another 3 hour flight into another country. We get through customs quickly and at the airport exit there is a huge mob of people just waiting for others to arrive, and no where can we find the person who was suppose to pick us up. We spend half an hour trying to contact the place but their phone was incorrect on their site, while at the same time trying to keep our luggage safe as it could have been easily stolen. Finally this short man just pops out of no where with a sign with my girlfriend's name and we are relieved. The place we were going was an off the grid yoga retreat, and it was a four hour drive to get to the boats that would take us there. We loaded our bags, sat in the back and doze off resting next to one another on the majority of the drive. Once we got to our location we walked about half a mile through a rain forest path leading to a dock of a huge lake, where we had to take a boat to the middle island where the retreat resided. The pictures I have are still breath taking, crystal clear water with three active volcanoes around the lake and rain forest all around. We ride on the boat for 15 minutes and arrive at the retreat with this very old and wobbly dock, to this day I don't know how it stays up . We meet and greet with all the staff at the retreat, both fully exhausted, sweaty, and looking like zombies. And these people, just imagine a yoga retreat where they produce their own food, water, electricity, were the very definition of a hippie in how they dressed, talked, and lived. We get shown to our little tiny hut with a small bed, where we just drop all our stuff and lay down next to each other for a quick nap, too tired to even wash up. By 7 we get awaken by the dinner gong, we go to the main eating area and pathetically try to chant along with their blessing of the food prayer that was written on the wall in such small writing. We stuff down our food (which I will say they had the best vegetarian food I had ever had) and quickly go to get showered and cleaned up. I get a blanket after and tell her we should go sit at the dock. We walk up and the entire sky is completely covered with stars, so much that I can't even make out any of the constellations. We sit on the wobbly dock, gently swaying left and right from the small breeze, huddled together under the blanket, smoke slowly rolling down the hills from the volcanoes from afar, and a fully lit sky. She lays her head on my shoulder and at that very moment I feel a very deep peace and happiness within. I turn to see a small tear of happiness falling from her eye, I go to give a playful lick of it and kiss her then after.... Without a doubt my best "date"
Porter56 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I went to a wedding. No alcohol allowed. Bunch of uptight people whose idea of a good time was to talk about their paperclip collection(no joke). I don't know that it's a dry wedding and ask for a beer. They inform me very judgmentally that alcohol is prohibited at this "sacred" event. So I sarcastically ask for a Zima. Well this really irked them. Everyone at our table would only talk to me in one word responses and dirty looks. My "date" got up and left to sit at another table lol. Two hours of awful toasts, first dances and even more awful overcooked food and blah blah blah...everyone is ignoring me. All these uptight, middle aged, mouth breathing, self righteous people get up to dance very cheesily to Proud Mary and I can't take this place. So I should do the right thing and leave. Wellll....I'm not really into doing the so called "right" thing I go down the street to a gas station and buy a 12 pack of beer and pound 3 of them really quickly outside in the parking lot and finish a 4th one on the way back to the wedding where everyone is really into doing the chicken dance. I sit down and plop my pack of beer down on the table and see how long before someone says something. I get to beer number 9 before some big jock looking guy comes over with someone's grandma to tell me to leave. I make a wisecrack about how grandma just needs to calm down and find herself a one night stand(my language was much more vulgar than that lol) Anyway....that's how I got a black eye at a wedding. AKA best date ever!!!
