Does NC also means blocking them from social networks?

I need your opinion guys, i want to get over someone i´ve been trying to forget for 4 years. I contacted him last week, asked for a second chance and he told me he is in love with someone else.

I really want to move on. he lives in another town so there is a chance we´ll never see each other again. I started no contact and i will maintain no contact for the rest of my life, we are not friends on facebook or instagram since he left me 4 years ago, but i am not sure what is the best thing to do here.

Should i just go NC, or should i also block him so he never hears or sees me again, not even on a profile pic. The thing that stops me from blocking him is that i don´t want him to think i´m extremely hurt, i kinda want him to think i could care less. And blocking someone is caring, a lot. i think.

what do you think is the best?

there is also a part of me that doesn´t want to be forgotten. I mean, he´s obviously over me, he is in love with somone else, but i eventually want him to see how i went on with my life and how great i am doing now without him.

If i block him from all social networks, he´ll just never see that recovered version of me and i´ll just get forgotten. that´s my main fear

From my experience, block their number and all social media. Otherwise, you will continue to stalk their page. No contact is the only way to heal.

It's the opposite of what you think. From my experience, when you stop chasing is when your ex begins to wonder.

If you want to get over him, this is the very opposite of the mindset that you need to have.

Your goal is to not care in any way, shape or form how he feels about you.

Being recovered and still caring whether or not your ex is privy to your supposedly great life are contradicting ideas. If you're truly recovered, you won't care whether or not he sees it.

Recover and build an awesome life for you, not some guy you have no future with.

Four years seems like an extremely long period to still be hung up on an Ex. Are you seeing a therapist or a counselor? It might not be such a bad idea if you are still struggling to forget someone after four years.

Also, you should block them for you, not them. Going NC and blocking them on social media/phone etc is about your healing.

Sounds like he's moved on, I suggest now is the time you do the same.

Harsh reality:

If he is love with someone else, he probably won't notice he's blocked because he isn't looking for you.
