Redhead14 Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Can someone explain this and maybe give example to help explanation? The red pill and its opposite, the blue pill, are popular culture symbols representing the choice between embracing the sometimes painful truth of reality (red pill) and the blissful ignorance of illusion (blue pill). Example: Woman is so in love with a man who is abusive to her and ignores that fact. She thinks she loves HIM, when in fact, she loves the vision of the man she wishes he would be. She can't make herself leave him, so she chooses the blue pill because that supports her illusion/delusion rather than taking the red pill -- accepting the harsh reality that he is not a good partner and forging out on her own to be single, independent, etc. She is afraid of the unknown, so she stays where it's "comfortable". She knows what she has now and accepts that at her own expense.
Author Wookin Pa Nub Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 Ok - I thought it was from a male perspective that women prefer Alpha males to fulfill their sexual desires in their younger years. They prefer alphas even tho they likely treat them badly and use them for sex. Beta males are less desirable until women realize they want good husband material but women will still desire alphas over betas sexually.

There is some similarity conceptually, (They prefer alphas even tho they likely treat them badly and use them for sex) but it's not really a true example of red pill/blue pill.
SammySammy Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Reddit - The Red Pill is probably the best place to read about and try to understand this phenomenon. Read the links in the sideboard to get a fundamental understanding of what they tend to think. Basically, the red pill vs blue pill analogy comes from the movie The Matrix. The red pill represents knowing the truth and accepting its often painful and harsh reality. The blue pill represents the painless existence of being blissfully unaware of the truth. Red pill guys apply this to dating and insist women and dating has a harsh reality. And seem to think the best way to respond is by being equally harsh and "realistic". 2
BlueIris Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 ... Red pill guys apply this to dating and insist women and dating has a harsh reality. And seem to think the best way to respond is by being equally harsh and "realistic". Yeah and it seems that for that group- their red pill or their "harsh" reality- is that they don't care about people, don't love or respect, and that they are exploiters of other human beings. I guess it is "their" version of reality, but they assert that it IS universal reality, which it isn't. Reality includes love, respect, enjoyment, sharing, kindness... all kinds of other things too.
SammySammy Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Yeah and it seems that for that group- their red pill or their "harsh" reality- is that they don't care about people, don't love or respect, and that they are exploiters of other human beings. Yeah. One of the main problems with Red Pill theory is the acronym AWALT or All Women Are Like That. They seem to take their negative experiences and expectations and project them onto other people, particularly all women. When whatever they are suggesting all women are like couldn't possibly be true or realistic. Because all women aren't alike. I do think there are some truisms and generalities that can be applied to dating, but I think Red Pill guys are basically miserable guys projecting their misery to the world. Miserable people being miserable. Their biggest problem is negativity - negative perceptions and expectations. Which become self-fulfilling prophecies.

BlueIris Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 why not just ignore them? they ignore you, so ignore them Do you mean ignore the people who believe that reality is all harsh or mostly harsh? Pessimists and outward-blamers do get ignored. I personally don't have a problem with people being pessimistic or have a negative worldview in a general sense, I just avoid them as I think most people do. 2
Woggle Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 This and MGTOW is the male version of extreme gender war kind of feminism. I don't like the original so why would I want to support the mirror version of it. 1
