LOL...my dumb a-- was in denial for so long. But it's gotta be a wife or gf.

Do not feel bad. It is not your fault that someone you have been seeing turns out to be full of crap. It happens every day. I'm sure many of the members here have had to deal with a liar for a potential partner at one time or another.

Just be glad you were able to come to your senses. Go NC with him, he'll get the message

Thank you. It does sting a little, but I'll be alright. Yup, already blocked him and not contacting him again.

Don't believe a guy who says stuff like that if his actions aren't backing it up. This guy clearly sounds at best like he's using you as a booty call. I wouldn't be surprised if there is someone else in the picture and that's why he is going to your town - so he's not recognized.

I've BTDT with one guy. At the time he was just entertainment so I was fine with the occasional visit. But eventually I got tired of the orbiters and cut them all off. He said the same stuff to me but he couldn't even be bothered enough to set up regular time with me . I told him I wasn't interested in getting together.

I'm dealing with that right now with one guy on OLD. He keeps trying to tell me how much he wants to date me and how serious he is but doesn't actually schedule any dates. In 4 weeks of talking we've been out once. I'm at the point of cutting him off. A single guy with a 9-5 job and no kids should be able to make some time for me and plan a date with me if he were that serious.

I've been dating a guy for 4 months now, we made it exclusive about 2 months after meeting. He lives an hour away. In those 4 months, I've only seen him a handful of times. The times we've seen each other, it's just been him coming to my place to drink and have sex. We did go out one time, but I paid for everything. He has yet to spend a dime on me, not a cent. To be honest, him spending money is not a big deal. My main issue is that he doesn't make time or put in effort to spend time together.

He was the first one to say I love you. And many times he's told me he wants a family with me and wants to marry me. That's what confuses the hell out of me. We text all day, every day.

It's been almost a month and I haven't seen him. Either because things "come up" up on his end, or I get annoyed that he hasn't texted all day to firm up our plans and I'm left wondering....so I cancel.

He keeps telling me to be patient and that things will change, and that the distance is inconvenient...but of course my intuition is telling me he's hiding something. Am I getting played or just being insecure and expecting too much?

Ok, I'm going to be blunt here, as I always am. You're giving this man all your power away. You're having sex with him with no commitment or investment in you, and you're paying for the dates. I'm sorry hun, but he doesn't see this as a relationship, but only as a hook up, and it would be better for you to cut him out now. The next time you meet a guy, don't have sex with him right away, and see how he shows up. If he's taking you out on dates, calling in advance, following up after and doing it on a regular basis, then have sex with him, not before. A man will value something he's earned, not something that's been given to him, and you'll feel so much better about yourself. It's taken me many years to learn this lesson, I hope you aren't as slow of a learner as me! Good luck! ;)

I completely agree. Sounds like he was just like my dude...all talk and no action. No more getting sucked in with the sweet talk, that's for sure.

You need to cut that guy off too. It's been hard for me, although it's only been a day....but I know I'm better off without the stress and empty promises.

I can agree to an extent, but at the time all I wanted was to have fun. I wasn't looking for a relationship. It wasn't until all the sweet things he kept telling me, that I started to fall for him. But yes, if I wanted something serious with someone, I would have waited to give it up. I guess that's why I'm mad at myself for falling for this guy when I wasn't even looking for that to begin with.
