But I have dated with the understanding that the relationship was not monogamous.

 

Depends on the expectations ans agreements made in the relationship. Has this guy agreed to monogamy? If so how does "constantly" using hook up apps come into play?

It's more like an app that lets you travel and stay at people's houses anywhere around the world for free. Not everyone uses it for hooking up / casual sex, but the general consensus is that a lot do.
