thatdudeslim Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 So I met this girl over the summer and we both clicked instantly. We went on 3 dates and even made out, the problem is she went to Africa for 5 months to study abroad. Before she left she told me that she likes me and how much it sucks that she's gonna leave me.... We still keep in touch via Facebook and texting while she is away. Today I told her I couldn't wait for her to return so we can get breakfast together....She replied that she needs to concentrate on her time there and she cant think that far in the future. Does this mean she does not like me anymore?
JewelD Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 How long has she been there? It's certainly not something you would say to someone you liked unless they were badgering you, which I'm assuming you weren't. That would turn me off, I probably would give her space and focus my attention on women in the country. 5 months is a long time and she's not your girlfriend. Why wait around?
ExpatInItaly Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 For what it's worth, I would never say that to a man I'm interested in. Sorry OP, but I wouldn't hold my breath on this one.
basil67 Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 I'm sure she still likes you. But she's making sure you know that the two of you are not an item. If you're both still single when she returns, I'm sure she will take you up on the date.
Toodaloo Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 It means she is being realistic. You getting clingy is going to ruin her time over there. Keep all chat general and light hearted. Ask her out when she gets back.
