avidtraveller Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Was married young but lasted 18yrs and together for 23 but we separated 6 yrs ago (she left me abrubtly & child custody battle ensured nasty hard fought court appearances ensued with her making awful false allegations agsinst me). Those 3 yrs post separation was all consuming on trying to get access to my 2 kids so any attempts at me repartnering were put on hold. Met sime nice ladies but timing wasnt right. I gained 50% shared custody of kids but soon after they came to me full time. Ex has remarried. Yes I'm flat out in full time wirk & raising 2 young teenagers, so is this the reason why I have no feelings for orher ladies when trying to date? I find initial excitement at getting to know someone, but after 2 or 3 mthns its like i have zero feelings and cant continue. I would like to repartner but feel emotionally dead. Is this understandable given what ive been thru and current very busy lifestyle, or have i shut down emotionally or never really gotten over my ex? I think i have, i have no feelings (other than disdain) on the few occassions I do see her via very limited childrn contact she has with our children.
