Nothingcleverhere Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Hi. So as the title says my gf recently dumped me. This is the second time it's happened in the past 10 months. The first time we weren't together for about 3 months. She moved out of our house and moved back to her parents which was an hour away. We still hung out all the time and she would stay the night and sleep with me. When we got back together I moved out to her hometown where she's the only person I know. After 6 months of being happy ( so I thought) I came home to a letter stating that it's over and she blocked all channels of communication. I was devastated. Still am. I was able to finally get ahold of her and we hung out all night, enjoying each other's company. She wanted to leave and I broke down and freaked out. So she stayed longer, holding me and telling me that it's all ok and she loves me. Once she left she starting ignoring me again. Finally after two days she called and told me I ruined her trust by not letting her go when she originally wanted to. Basically everything she said after that point was to calm me down so she could leave. I feel so betrayed and once she told me it was basically a lie, I decided I would give her the space she was asking for and stop trying to contact her. It's now only been two days and I'm still freaking out. I'm all alone out here and I miss my best friend. We also have a child together that I now haven't heard from or seen in two weeks. I don't know what to do, does anyone have any advice for me?

I get what she means but I don't see how you ruined her trust. Its was also her fault for taking you back. She was also being selfish.

I don't know what to do, does anyone have any advice for me? Do you live in the States ? If yes, then you have to file for visitation / custody and your first steps should be to a family law practitioner's office. It is entirely possible that she might file for sole custody and takes you to court for child support, so be smart and act fast. I normally do not suggest any aggressive moves when a kid is in the picture (I am assuming said child is a minor) and it is better to co-parent amicably than with hostility. So attempt to work out a solution w.r.t your child first, then worry about resolving or dissolving your relationship with her. Good luck !
Author Nothingcleverhere Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 Yeah we live in the states. She says she has no intentions to keep our kid from me and doesn't want child support, just wants us to co parent. But it doesn't feel that way since I haven't seen our daughter yet. I really just want to be adults and work that out on our own. But with this no contact, I'm confused.

I suggest you contact a family practitioner lawyer TODAY and get your options. The reason is that the longer you go without contacting your minor child, the more grounds she has to seek (and obtain) sole custody with merely visitation rights to you. IF she wanted to coparent, she wouldn't keep your daughter from you, so act fast and post-haste. Your first order of priority is keeping your parental rights intact. Worry about your relationship with the mother later. Good luck and god speed !
