PogoStick Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Yesterday I matched with a girl on Tinder. We exchanged a few messages and then I asked her to meet after establishing we both have the same days free this week. She then asked "How tall are you?". I answered (to which she responded positively), then I replied with "How much do you weigh"? And she insta-blocked me! I did ask just to tease her. If you're willing to ask about something arbitrary like height, then shouldn't weight be fair game too? 4
Kamille Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I think it's hilarious as an outsider. I'm not sure how I would respond if a guy asked me my weight online however. Then again, I would probably not ask about height either.
joseb Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Pretty funny, kinda illustrates the double standards regarding height and weight (one of which you have no control over). 2
Art_Critic Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I think absent of pictures then the question about weight is fair game, however I noticed you asked the question not to find out about her but to put her in her place.. You did it to make her feel small because she asked your height. IMO if this is how you approach OLD dating then you are not going to find a woman who you can respect and the type of woman who would put up with that type of exchange won't be much of a fun date either... 2

My guess is she probably was heavy, because if a guy asked me, I'd be proud to tell him because I weigh 115 lbs! It's always best to get full body pics. I learned that lesson because I went out with a guy who was fat, but couldn't tell from his face pictures. And even full body pics aren't accurate if the person puts pics up from 10 years which pisses me off!!! 1

Yeah, sounds like more of a neg Pogo. Good thing we know you better on here but I assume she doesn't so you can't really be surprised. 1
insert_name Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Well played- you have a good attitude towards Tinder in that you aren't afraid to say something that might cause the other person to lose interest. You certainly can't win them all when it comes to OLD! As for what you actually said, she was looking to unashamedly screen you on height and you replied in kind. I don't see any problem with that. If she is touchy about it maybe she does have weight issues or simply doesn't get the irony. Move on to the next.
JADIE Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 You dodged a cannonball. I almost spit tea on my laptop...:lmao:
Author PogoStick Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 I'm not upset about it. More entertained as a little social experiment. I use more tact with regular online dating, but I don't take Tinder seriously so I was willing to lose that one. I might meet one girl a year via Tinder. I use it more for wasting time and as a way to measure what pictures girls will find attractive.
