Author leogirl876 Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 So an update from my other thread on guys that text too much. There's been 2 guys that I've recently met on OLD and we talked one conversation and then they started texting. So instead of ignoring them, I said, "I'm not big on texting, so call me when you get a chance". And it's worked, they've called instead of texted, hehehehe!!!
Gaeta Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Yay! that's great. So since the 8th what happened with those guys that called?

I've been out on a date with one last night, seemed like a good guy (for real), and I'm supposed to go out with this other guy this Friday night, so we'll see.

Awesome and I think how you broached it with them was PERFECT. Not a demand, but simply letting them know what you prefer and expressing interest at the same time! PERFECT! 1
Shanex Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Some people dislike texting excessively and I understand it, OP. I'm not big on it too. I usually give a quick phone call after I messaged for a while a woman on a site. Firstly, because I want to know if she's for real, and second, a phone call gives more on the person than texting. Also, the way people write their texts ie: ''R u free tonite'' can be a turn off. Once I'm 'settled in a relationship, I do both, less texting, more calls trying to go to the essential. Good on you OP. 1

Good on you OP. Yeah agreed. I just don't like texting with a guy when we first meet. I like him to call me to set up a date. I don't mind if he texts to send me the place where we're meeting or something, but only texting is so impersonal!
Miss Peach Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I agree with you OP. I prefer calling for at least 10-15 minutes so I can get a feel for the guy. That little action has brought up the quality of my OLD dates dramatically. I have said similar to guys and they just kept on texting and never called. Don't be afraid to move on if your communication styles don't mesh.
