I was seeing a girl for 2 years in an exclusive relationship. We lived together for a year then she moved out. I expected the relationship to end soon thereafter but it continued for another 6 months. I am quite a bit older than her. She's in her late 20s, I'm in my mid 40s. Her mom didn't like the age difference and didn't hide that concern. She broke up with me once, amicably and peacefully, then called the next day and suggested we get back together. Things were back to normal within a couple weeks. Then 3 months later she did it again and suggested we not communicate for 2 weeks. Then we started talking again and have seen each other a few times and have started having sex. We went on an overnight trip this weekend and had about the best sex we've ever had, mutually agreed. She has made it clear over and over that this is FWB and that we are not getting back together. She says she thinks what she is doing is unfair to me but she'll call me and ask me to come over because she's lonely, which leads to sex. She knows I've seen an old GF in the interim (didn't sleep with her) and even seems open to helping me meet someone else. She lives far away from family and does like me as a friend and wants me around because she's lonely. I'm not asking for advice, but just sharing this story because it's interesting. I know this won't last forever and that I'll be hurt when it's over but it is pretty fun for now!

Sounds like something coming from a sixteen y/o girl, that can't let the past go, not a man in their 40s.

But whatever floats your boat.

Good luck with that.

Second that.

It doesn't sound like fun at all, tbh. It sounds like you like being hurt.
