4x4storm Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 So after posting that thread last night "Should I pay her back" we met and to put things simply the date went okay not amazing just okay. When we met she went for the hand shake but I proceeded with the side hug I paid for the snacks like others suggested. There was 15 minutes worth of ads so we got some small talk in she was visibly nervous kept moving around and flicking her hair. But as the movie started she became more comfortable and laughed and seemed to have a good time. Afterwards she mentioned she was tired after a full day of work so I asked how she was getting home. She said her mum was picking her up so I asked if she wanted me to stay which she said no that's fine so I left and got on the bus. Now this is where this girl starts to make my brain tick I sent her this when I got home. Me: I hope you enjoyed yourself tonight **** . If you would like to see each other again just let me know. Her: Home already? Me: Yeah why aren't you? Her: No my mum hasn't showed up yet. So later on I find out she waited in the freezing cold for 2 hours waiting for her mum. And the way she went around my first text is not new I could be talking about one thing so she completely ignores it and changes in another direction. So I wished her a good night she seen the message early the next morning but never replied.
smackie9 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 (edited) You should have insisted to keep her company while she waited for her mom. BTW you should have told her YOU really enjoyed yourself and thanked her for the movie. Then say you would like to take her out next time. Edited September 4, 2016 by smackie9 2
smudge21 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Bit of a cock up there, but nothing that's not fixable. It seems the date just went awkward alround. Try to get another date, not at the cinema though as that's 2 hours of silence - good if you're a couple, not when you're dating. Then come the end of the date, stay with her until her lift arrives. We all make silly mistakes when meeting new people - those nerves just kick in as we over think every little detail. Accept that and move on, make the next time better.
