grokcahsevol Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 So this morning I wake up, and check my email and social media. I removed my ex from ALL social media and have cleared all my searches about 4 weeks ago. So when I went on Instagram, and when you go to search for something, theirs "Top, People, Tags, and Pictures." I was searching for literally something unrelated to anything with my ex (I was searching food) and on the "Top" section it showed my ex, along with other people that I HAVE searched for. How and why did this happen? I'm not sure how Instagram works in that sense, but the only thing I could think of is my ex logged into my Instagram and she searched her self on my account so that way I can see her when I search for something?
sooshi Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I don't use that site, so I don't know. But change your password on there, to prevent her from logging in case that's what happened.
Lansing Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I think IG has it owns search history depending on the device you are using. I don't know for sure how to clear it but you would need to clear it separately. I very much doubt that she would have done that but as the other user said change your password just in case.

I have only ever used it on my iPhone and have erased my cookies/search history about 4 weeks ago and havent searched for her since. This is why I found it odd.
srhxo Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 It does the same thing to me. I think it was something they changed in the most recent update.

srhxo Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 They updated it to show your last EX? haha No, lol. I mean that mine does the same thing where even if I clear my search history on the app, it'll still show certain people in the "top" section. Not really sure why either.
Joebloggs91 Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Why don't you take some time away from social media? I can't stress how much it helps the healing process. I had it on Facebook that stuff my ex posted came up as trending on the search history despite me deleting all of it and hiding her. Simple solution was to take some time away from it.
