Hello,

I need ideas on where to go to possibly find single guys capable of having genuine conversation and a possible connection in real life.

I live in a major city so it should be easy (or so I thought) lol but when I think of socializing I guess the bar scene is the Answer I get the most. I was just wondering where some of you met current/past partners in real life?

I need a break from online. I'm starting to feel like it's the hub for the emotionally detached for the most part lol

Thanks!!

Joining a coed social sports league is an option if you're into sports.

Any place where there are 30-somethings. ;)

Seriously, you don't have to limit yourself to dating cattle pens - church, work, festivals, anywhere there are ppl. :)

I search festivals for my area all the time. Usually something going on or planned. Sure, a lot of it is alcohol related, but usually it's during daylight and not at a bar.

My brother met his wife at a play(she was an actress) but he was there cause he enjoys plays.

So find events in the area you want to try?

I found a few meetup groups that cater to my interests with a good mix of men. Just take a look though at that age range the group caters to or attracts. I've found a lot of groups there are people that are really old or young which is cool but not if you're looking to meet men for dating.

^^^ This is a good avenue.

I play coed volleyball and there are a lot of single men and women in the leagues.

I also played coed kickball, and it was the same as coed volleyball, but the sport itself was just lame.

Group happy hours are also good. I have one for the local engineering community.

Running clubs are rife with single people, and they tend to meetup at bars afterwards.
