My ex of 2 years broke up with me 3 months ago saying he didn’t feel the same way anymore. There was nothing wrong with our relationship, we were best friends, he just couldn’t handle the intensity of living together (which we did move in together to soon- our relationship went at hyper speed)

anyway, i’ve pretty much come to terms with the fact that he’s not coming back and i’m focusing on trying to move on right now

However 3 months on I still think of him all the time, i miss him so much and i still feel unhappy quite a bit of the time and still have quite a few moments of desperation

How long has it taken you in your previous break ups as a dump to stop feeling like this?

Please post positive stories about moving on

Hi Rachael,

I'm sorry you're still hurting. He was an important part of your life and you're experiencing a difficult loss.

There is no timeline for healing. Everyone heals in different ways, at a different pace. Every situation is different. Positive stories of moving on are great; just keep in mind that timing is such an individual thing because there are so many factors involved.

Go at your pace, and don't worry about how long it took someone else(s) to do X, Y, and Z. Your feelings matter, your journey matters, and your time matters.

Pretty much coming to terms with the fact that he's not coming back, and focusing on trying to move on right now are both vital steps in the healing process. You're doing great!
