Why do people go to bars/clubs/parties? Is it mostly because theyre looking for sex?

I know some girls like to go just to let loose and socialize but I feel most guys go to these things to bring girls home. I know that's my main reason for going. I definitely don't go to these things to meet guys. Haha.

I go for music and to be with other people. Hell, I don't even drink alcohol and I hit up a bar at least once a week.

 

I don't go to pick up women, I go there because I enjoy it. Sit and BS with friends, play some pool, listen to live music. And if a good looking woman happens to take an interest in me, icing on the cake.

Bars, parties and clubs are 3 totally different places.

 

 

Personally, I like bars and parties, but I'm not a big club person. I don't enjoy that type of music, and I'm not big into club dancing. When I was younger, if I went to a club with friends, my only interest was meeting women.

 

 

Parties and bars are places you can actually socialize with your friends or make new ones.

Yep,it depends on if you're going to a bar/club/party and what kind of bar/club/party. And yes some of them really are mainly just for getting sex. For some ppl at least.

I go to dance (yes, I even dance by myself), the loud music, the lights, artificial smoke machine. Eh, and I like to dress up and just go out.

 

Haven't gone in a long time cuz people are rude (they step on my nicely manicured toes), guys wanna dry-hump instead of dance (I had to push/shove off some guys), and, with the latest shootings....I have more fun jamming at home.

Clubs on the other hand - tend to be more of a meat market. Can't really talk due to the music, and the "scene" isn't the type I am interested in (I instantly think of thick, cheap cologne and sleazy dudes). But some people do go because they love to dance.....

It's kinda sad how one bad apple turns the whole bunch. It's like a rarely spoken bias that all dudes just want sex all the time, and that when we go places to have fun it's because we think there is sex there.

 

 

As far as bars? I go mostly to bullcrap. I like sitting around and talking crap. It's fun to me. Cracking jokes and remembering that time when we...

 

 

As far as parties? Most of the time those of social events I wish I could get out of. Especially kid's birthday parties (except my kids' parties, those are awesome... everyone else's though.... painful...) adult parties? work functions? heck, I can't be myself at work because myself isn't truly politically correct in my personal humorstyle, so no... I definitely don't go to those to find sex. Regular drinking parties? Most of the time it's like a stick my head in so folks don't think I'm antisocial, crack some bad jokes, and haul tail.

 

 

Clubs? If I go, which isn't likely once I surpassed the age of 23, it's because I walked in thinking it was a bar. I don't live in an area with dance clubs for the mid-thirties age group, and would probably avoid the place if I did.

 

 

And the twenty-something folks that do go, probably are ALL on the prowl, dudes and chicks alike.

 

 

So, to answer your question, no, I personally don't go to those places looking for sex.

Agreed about the variety of venues.

 

I like to go to clubs for the music, dancing and dressing up. But the clubbing we do is is with old goths. We dance to Souxie and Bauhaus and everyone there is pretty much old and married. It truly is about the music and the scene.

 

Parties are by nature about socialising with friends. And a bar (pub) is just a local social venue. Yes, you can meet a new person there, but it's not the kind of place you'd head for sex.

(If you're a girl anyway.)

I think it frequently depends on who else is there. And whether or not one is single and the other patrons are single.
