Dakota419 Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Recently quit my job. When I was leaving, I suggested to girl who was in another department and had an eye for that we stay in touch. She was excited to give me a number. I haven't contacted her yet. How do I go about setting up a date? During the first phone contact... through txt or phone call? Help me out, people. Thanks.
phineas Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 you already know her so just text and see if she wants to go out for a drink. I don't call unless i know them or have told them i'm calling first.
leogirl876 Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 I think you should call her. Keep the conversation short & to the point on asking her out. Don't call to talk to her for a long time, but please call her. I think texting someone to ask them out (unless you've dated for a really long time) shows laziness.

The problem with calling is you have no idea if they are busy at the time. A text can be responded to any time any where. If he calls and she doesn't pick up does he leave a message? What does he say? Op - I say you text and ask when she is available to talk. Setup plans quickly and get off the phone.

If she's not there, either leave a message for her to call you back or text her asking to call you back. Myself and a lot of women I know are tired of guys texting so much. I don't know OP age or how really young women feel, but women in their 30s, 40s and older are tired of men texting so much and I've not gone out with guys again because they texted me asking me out on a date, it's a turn off. 1

Interesting. But you're a woman so what do I know. Calling can't hurt but a lot of people don't like to be taken by surprise.
