Illusion24 Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Hey everyone, long time. I have a little question that I've been trying to anwer for about a week. I have my brother's baby shower in a few weeks and I have NO idea what to get him. It's my first "blood" nephew and I want to give them something nice and memorable. (My step-sister has a little boy but I hardly see him) So I thought of getting them... A) A big basket with a bunch of little things in it...Like socks, clothes, bottles, little reading books, shampoo, a lil brush...Things like that!! OR B) One BIG present that my brother and his wife can use until the babies too big and he can't use it anymore. I don't want to get them something they'll only use for about a week because it's a waste of money. So what would you rather have...One big present or A basket with goodies?? Any ideas would be great...I don't have much time Thanxs...NSN!
LittleMiss Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 It really depends on what their needs are. I have hosted and been to many baby showers. I usually go with the basket full of goodies. My sister was the only exception. I ended up buying her a travel system that included and car seat/carrier and stroller. Everyone else already had the big stuff they needed way ahead of time. I know I did when I was prego. I made sure I had the crib, swing, bouncer, carrier, ect. way ahead of time. Go with the small stuff. Lots of socks, mittens, onesies, burp towels, bibs, pampers, wipes, bottles, and stuff like that.

That was my first choice...But now when it comes down to actually buying something I'm going nuts...I want it to be special and I also wanted to throw in a special touch for the baby from his aunt...But that's a whole other issue...I've got time for that..She's not due till September!

I'm just so nervous...I want to do something nice for him because he's been their for me through some hard times and he deserves the best for his little one. I've gotten so close to my Bro that I feel I have to make him proud... You know what I mean jelly bean!! We were never this close and now with the baby...their going to get sick of me...
