I'm acquainted a 47-year-old man who was always dating younger women (he's one of those that women just love, anyway - I used to have a crush on him, when I was in my twenties).

 

He's now in love with a woman in her forties (as far as I know), and this is the happiest and most open about a relationship, that I've seen from him in a long time.

Exactly this. When I was a teenager I crushed hard for another teenager. In my late 20s, my girlfriend also in her late 20s was the most beautiful woman in the world to me. And my most recent ex, at 40 (I was 42), was the most stunning woman on the planet to me. She took my breath away every time I looked at her.

I'm the same, but when there is an age difference, I would always be more attracted to 2-3 years old than 2-3 years younger.

My personal preference for the sweet spot in terms of physical appearance and health (both in what I like in a woman and what I experienced myself) is age 28, going on thru about age 32. By 28, most women have lost all vestiges of baby-ishness and they're just purely woman!, and they'e still young enough to avoid the age-related stuff, thru 32 or so. Then it starts to noticeably catch up.

 

That's a very 2-dimensional criteria for thinking a woman's hot tho. SOOO many more elements to consider. Thank god. (40-somethings here I come. )
