Its all individual. I am a Man, but i can only speak for myself. I am not too big on the whole butterflies, huge limerance, freaking out all the time wondering what she thinks junk. Its too much of a headache, i dont like to feel anxious about life.

If i find the woman physically attractive, i want to have sex with her, she turns me on, i can talk to her all day and not be bored, we can go out and do things together and be mostly on the same page and enjoy each others company. If im happy to see her and talk to her, if she puts a smile on my face....well....for myself i cant really ask for any more then that. Assuming that she is the same way to me.

Men and women each have there own tendencies, but people are still individuals.

I have a good friend who is a thrill of the chase kinda guy. And a butterflies kinda guy. He never lasts more then a month or two in a relationship. As soon as he starts to feel comfortable with the woman he leaves her and goes on the hunt again, searching for the new excitement.

and where are those girlfriends now?

That is love by Leigh_87. Not all couples in love have experimented infatuation at first.

To me butterflies and honeymoon phase are 2 separate things. After 8 months with my boyfriend we are still in the honeymoon phase but I have never experience infatuation (butterflies) with him. I grew in love with him because my eyes were wide open and I could see the man for who he is. Like OP I am excited and always looking forward to seeing him, he is the only man in my head and my heart, I am devoted to him and would lay down in the middle of a highway for him. As per you that is not a deep love because I did not go through butterflies?

OP: When you say you are excited at the thought of seeing her, what do you call that?

Well I'm excited, in the same way that I look forward to lots of things , but I don't have that physical feeling of butterflies, it's all entirely in my head.

There have been quite a mix of responses here, so I think I'm going to keep on seeing her and doing what I'm doing. Sooner or later I will either fall in love with her or get annoyed at having to spend all my time with her. I really hope it's the former.
