Miffy Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Anyone do meditation? I would like to start - any tips, no idea how to do it. Thanks
moimeme Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 If you google 'meditation' you'll find 8,960,000 sites on it - most if not all with 'how-to' information.
Miffy Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Thanks, I was looking to speak to someone who had personal experience of doing it and their experiences, that's why I asked on here rather than looking on google.
Cwazydude Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I find the best way is to concentrate on your breathing, If you need to shut out your thoughts just think "IN!!!" when you breath in, And "OUT!!!" when you breath out. But, Try not to hyper-ventilate.....
Berner Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 I've run across a couple of forms of meditation that you might find helpful: 1. First is a great one that you do throughout the day. Really only takes a few moments. Even better is to set a timer (one that does not tick) and do this for 4 or 5 minutes a couple of times per day. Can really make a big difference. http://www.thewayofseeing.com/artic...meditation.html 2. A more formal meditation can be found in a link on this page ("sitting meditation"): http://www.thewayofseeing.com/elements.html
Berner Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Correction: the first link above should be: http://www.thewayofseeing.com/article_mini-meditation.html
