Asked guy on a date for the first time last Saturday. He said yes. Date is supposed to be Friday but I didn't specify time. Should I be the one to confirm since I asked? When should I do this?

Yes you should confirm. And you should have done it immediately. This sounds like texting because people actually talking FTF or on the phone would have confirmed.

I would confirm ASAP but avoid making it awkward. Come up with something else unrelated to chat about and then bring it up casually. Long silence or delay then randomly asking when the date is would seem slightly odd to me...

Thank you. You are right, it is text and we've been texting every day. I'm not sure how to casually bring it up.

If you are texting every day, it's easy. Don't open by asking. Just text back and forth normally. The instant it's your turn to reply and a topic is winding down or the conversation is drifting just type "Hey, what time is good for you on Friday?" Done.

You already did the hard part by asking someone out. Confirming should be easy now.
