Hey guys, what's your take on women that say things that communicate an interest in you but they don't follow through with their actions?

An example from me is around 2 weeks ago, a got chatting to a beautiful girl on POF.

All went well, took her phone number and called her up to ask her out.

Well, she didn't answer and texted me to ask who it was and when I reminded her, she said 'now's not a good time' (to talk on the phone) and I said 'it's okay to be nervous' in a playful way.

She agreed and went along with it, so I asked her out over text.

Her excuse was that she wasn't free at all the next week due to college (bit suspicious but fair enough) so I told her to get back to me when she knew she'd be available and I haven't heard from her since.

The twist in this story is made more cryptic when she 'mutual meet me' matched with me on POF a week later. New pictures and everything, but no message. What makes me so confused it that she said things like 'The only reason I'm on here now is because of you, I hate this site' and 'I definitely want to meet you, you're so pretty!'

Has anyone experienced a confusing situation similar to this?

What do you think could be going on when they behave like this?

You really think so? isn't that when its someone pretending to be someone else? I found her on facebook so I know the girl exists.

I don't know much about social app sites, but from the sound of that second message, maybe she was writing to a girlfriend and accidentally sent it to you?

I highly doubt that, we were texting back and forth quite quickly and she actually said 'you're so pretty, man!' so it was obviously aimed at me.

Mind=blown.

She likes the attention.

I get women who try to flirt sexually with me but for one reason or another we cant meet on the night we decided to meet or they are "busy" on the nights i'm free.

but they still text me and want to sext or flirt or some crap like that and I end up just ignoring them until they want to legit meet or go away.

Yup...OP, you need to stop going off their words....judge their sincerity based on their actions

Most women on OLD are there for either to get their ego stroked or to collect "fans" for their social media.

That's not to say that there's no legit girls looking for a match in OLD but they are a few and far between and you can usually tell by their very detailed profile descriptions.

Getting a phone number means nothing. One phone call and one text is enough to weigh things. If there's no reciprocation, move on and don't question it. I would even go as far as to suggest to block these numbers, as many times these girls will throw you bait to get you interested again and keep you on the loop.

OP (and everyone else) - this is not even remotely true. Just FYI.

HORSE HOCKEY.

This is 100% true.

The majority of women online are just looking for bragging rights and ego strokes/attention.

I've seen multiple women i know personally from 25 to 45 bragging about how many guys message them.

they have shown me their in box on POF and OK cupid but never actually meet with those guys.

unless they are lying to me about that.
