Alright, LoveShackers, as many of you know, I came here originally for advice on how to deal with my ex-girlfriend (or, to be honest, how to make her want me back  ). As the soap opera drama unfolded - and yes, it was quite a drama, complete with requisite dark alley comments, conspiracies to commit violence, actualy attempts at violence, screaming off balconies, rumors, group meals broken by the tension. Oh, and let me add, that's not the list of things I did. That's just a short, semi-inclusive list of things that occured. Overall I'd say that the experience was fun. It may have been miserable at the time, but I'm sure after I have some time to gather my memories and my friends are no longer sick of hearing about it (or maybe I'll have to get new friends) it will make a great story. Let's not forget that I hear on a near daily basis how much I've changed lately and get constant praise about how damn cool (read: not whipped anymore) I've become

Well, enough blowing my own horn - back to my point. I have just received a tidy little notice in the bottom right hand of my screen that I have a new email message from Jessie LeDeux*. You have no idea how excited I am to recieve this notice. This means that we get to play a game! The name of the game is to guess what this mysterious and gloriously announced email may (or may not) contain. The winner gets nothing, except for the pleasure of being able to attribute his or herself with the ability to predict the bahavior of a completely unfamiliar girl of whom the only pre-existing knowledge you hold rests in the vaguely bitter ramblings of her ex-boyfriend.

I'm risking emotional destruction here (although I somewhat foolishly believe that I am impervious to whatever she may say at this moment) for the entertainment of my fellow keyboard therapists (or am I just fishing for attention? who cares... it's fun!). So, fellow forum addicts, what will the message be?

Will it be:

An anonymous invite to a useless 'free' service (Jessie LeDeux invites you to join!)

A message intended for someone else, but accidentally sent to me?

A forward with some cheesy jokes or an even funnier plead for help by a non-existent cancer victim?

Just an email she wrote to say 'hi' and see 'what's up' and 'how are u'?

An email asking for some sort of item she wants back?

Perhaps she's looking for 'answers' or 'closure' and just has a few questions for me?

She's desperate to have me back in her life, and wants me to know how sorry she truly is?

Some other scenario I haven't thought of?

I want your best guesses! C'mon guys, I don't know how long I'll wait to open this one...

:lmao:

*Some names have been changed to protect the stupid blonde girl who still deems it necessary to email me long after I have decided that she is a worthless drain on my mental health and no longer worth the mental effort I waste thinking about her (even though I cannot always help myself).

It could be any of the above...

What's the file size?

File size: 2kb

You're friends taking your sloppy seconds is surely a sign that you're the 'alpha male', and an excuse to beat them senseless. I'll take that possibility

Need a little more info real quick like...

how long ago did you break up?

how long of NC?

who got the last word when you did stop talking?

My guess is that she wants me, and perhaps has even learned a thing or two about subtelty (i.e. she won't say "I LOVE YOU AND YOU MUST TAKE ME BACK IMMEADIATELY!!")

Ah, I guess I can open it now

EDIT: Maybe I wont open it yet

We broke up at the end of february, but practically lived next door in the doorms. She cheated on me, I dumped her, but I didn't want to (at the time). I stopped talking to her when school ended and I no longer lived where encounters with her were inevitable. She started calling me/emailing when I started ignoring her (or doing NC), and I accidently answered the phone once when she called. I told her that I thought it was stupid she's having a hard time dealing with the fact that she cheated on me and that she shouldn't waste my minutes anymore. Afterall, they're not free  . She told everyone that I'm a jerk and she hopes I die. That was early May.

I still think it is "Hi what's up ?" kind of mail, and it does mean that she wants to start atleast email game with you and the future of the game depends on how well you reply/not reply to this mail

BA, just open the d*mn thing already.

Sheesh...dramatics. :p

This will not come from her inbox, and even if a spoof comes from her mailbox then I will take it to have more meaning than it meets the eye.

Forward it to me. I'll read it and then tell you whether you should open it or not.

BA, judging by the time you are taking to open the mail I feel to say that you are still not over her :p:p

To have no feelings for her whatsoever would be to deny he loved her at. If he loved her, then his reservations for opening the email are justified.

That's why I say, send it to me first.

Maybe it's nothing, and you're just making a big deal about it. If it's been some couple of months since the break-up I doubt she's calling to say "OH baby I want you back".

Be optimistic here, you know her best, after all this time, what do YOU think she wrote? And why?

Open it up and stop playing games, You know you're dying to find out what it is.

 I see, you think I'm afraid to open it! I just had to build it up, because I'm sure it will be anti-climatic.

And, without further adeui, here it is:

Subject: Hey-just seeing how things are :)

Hey,

I just want to say sorry for being really emotional and calling you all those times! It's just that it never really hit me til then of what had actually happened. Things are a lot better now!! I'm just on my own now which I have realized I have needed for a while. Its nice just to be able to work on myself and do things that I have alwaysa wanted to try. I bought a cheap acoustic guitar, its realy nice to have. It's relaxing to play especially at night when it gets kinda scary at my apartment. I just got a job at the Barns Noble cafe so I'm going to be starting that pretty soon. By the way, I havn't forgot about the money for the longboard. I will give you the money as soon as I get my first pay check. You would be so proud, I was going down the hill by frienger mall and it was really dark and i was freakin out cuz i was going so fast so anyways i went up on the sidewalk by the math buillding and i didnt realize there was a curb so i flew off of it and actually landed!!! I was shaking like crazy so i made myself go off the curbs again so now i can do that without feeling too too nervous. But anyways, I hope your summer is going good. Sounds like you are having a good time hangin out. Talk to ya later,

Jessie

She's reaching out to you :)

Aaron, do you want this girl back?

Posted

So it is much like what I guessed.

It sounds like she's letting you know she's doing better and she's getting closure for herself. I don't know what happend between you guys but I do know she sounds sincere. I guess she's realizing the person you were and the person you wanted her to be and she's showing you she hasn't forgotten about you.

It sounds also like she wants to implement a friendship, if you're up to it. The email sounds nice, don't make her feel bad, if you have any anger towards her.

Posted

Obviously she wants your friendship...and while her life has been forfilling...she still misses the common bond...

I would think you have two choices

1. Keep an aquantice relationship with her and just send her a basic email back

2. Read it as you have and delete it w/o responding

It all depends what you think would be the outcome.

I tell you as much as I would've liked to keep in touch with mine, it wouldn't of helped and it wouldn't of been positive only chit chat...and I can chit chat with anyone of my friends...IMHO I wouldn't respond but of course its up to you
