If I'm around close friends, then I talk and have conservations, I'm just quiet around ppl I don't know very well. I don't know why even close friends accuse me of being quiet when I clearly talk and tell stories! How is that quiet??? I don't like it at all.

What they probably mean is that you're quiet and awkward in some situations.

Now, "accuse" is a big word. Are they actually criticising you and excluding you from events because of your quietness? Or are they simply making an observation? (in which case, it's not an accusation, nor is it something to get upset over)

Because your expression is different to theirs they are couching their criticism of you in euphemistic terms, which clearly doesn't make sense. What they really mean is that you are not as outer focused and directed as they are in your mannerisms and it bothers them. If it doesn't bother you then pay their comments no mind.

Don't take offence, just an off the wall observation

Do they get the effect you're quiet because you don't pass much information,

you withhold .. and they don't notice you've spoke as nothing meaningful hit

their ears? Could you be withholding?

Being "quiet" could also meaning being 'non-assertive' here.

And being quiet isn't necessarily a bad thing. Most people I know talk too much. And talking WAY too much is usually a sign that a person feels that they are attention-deprived.
