It's sure seems that way, I mean, people will look at married women with babies up on a pedestal, yet those that are single, childless, are financial stable, supporting themselves, have their own place, own their own car are considered to be worthless and not worth talking too???? When is someone going to congratulate me on being an independent woman without the help of a man by my side? What's the point of girls going to college and pursing a career if they only thing people judge them is a hubby and babies???

I am curious, how old are you and what part of the country are you from?

Here, in the hustle and bustle of silicon valley, child free women and couples are common, and not seen than less than.

I have never felt judged for not having children, and while I am not single, I am the bread winner.

I have never felt persecuted for this, if anything, congratulated!

I'm with you OP!

I pretty much avoid dating (and any flirty contact at all with anyone) now just because those I meet attempt lock down so very fast at my age. If I agree to a date and it's all 'good morning/night texts and you are mine - with way too much future chat for me.

But yep, I am seen as lovely by some and weird by others.

People are pretty vocal about it.

I prefer to have a choice who I spend my time with.
