mortensorchid Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I had connected to someone on Tinder recently. I know we've all had odd experiences, this is one is no exception. We were exchanging chit chat, just "hi how are you" type things. I said I was going to a party last weekend and it was a costume party. He asked what I was dressing up as, I said as Queen Ravenna from Snow White and the Huntsman (recycling the Halloween costume of 2013). He sent me his phone number and asked to see a photo of it. I sent it to him. I was in a full costume, it was not risque in anyway as I was covered up and I had a blonde wig on. He said "Thanks". That was 5 days ago. I heard nothing from him either through Tinder or the text I sent. Then tonight he sends me a message through Tinder saying "Your costume was very nice". I texted back "Thanks, how was your weekend?" He said "Not very good, I was stood up." I texted back "Sorry to hear that." (What could I say? I mean, I would be sorry to hear that from anyone.) He said he was supposed to have an evening with some woman, then she said she went back to her ex boyfriend. I said sorry. He's just treating me like a buddy now, that's certain. But I texted back of my weekend adventures (of which I have plenty of because I like to stay busy). He's obviously not interested beyond my being his friend only.
greenly24 Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 That does seem kind of odd, but maybe he's just looking for a friend. I'd imagine that after he got stood up he probably was kind of upset and looking for some sort of human interaction and you just happened to be that person. You never know what life is like for the person on the other end of the phone, so even though it's kind of strange, I think it's good you're being polite. Glad to have nice people like you in the world!
