man, you guys are really tugging me... both offer equally appealing views... i dont want to be 'that guy' who cant make a decision but apparently i am. Its a major life decision im entrusting to strangers on an open forum and even my close friends and family cant help me.

They would usually say "go for it!" or, "we'll support you in whatever decisions you make". I know they're just being supportive without weighing the pros/cons of my decision... its not exactly helping me decide...

i did like what Mind Chants said...

Either way, you'll never know it's right unless you make a decision.... All i have to do is take a decision and make it happen...

IMO having some knowledge in these areas is important. But you don't need a degree to learn them.

What is your learning style?

There are tons of videos from business schools, youtube videos, podcasts, books, local classes, etc. If you're interested in a few business areas you could easily find some bookkeeping or marketing classes online or locally. Local community colleges usually have a ton of these types of classes. In my area you could take these through adult community college or adult ed for about $100-150/class.

Much cheaper and faster than a MBA. IME it's best to start a business with some money, living expenses (because it can take time for the business to cash flow), and as little debt as possible. You might really want the money you would have spent on the MBA for your business or you might regret taking on the debt.
