sv1123 Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 (edited) I met this guy at a party and we hit it off, convo flowed and there was lots of laughter/sweet playfulness. He was showing signs of interest that seemed more than just sexual - it was actually kind of a sweet, innocent connection. At one point though he casually mentioned his girlfriend so I created a respectful distance. I also assumed that by bringing her up, maybe he was trying to give me a hint that he was just being friendly. So I kept it cool and hung out with my other friends. Yet a few minutes later I screamed because a random big dog started barking. (I'm scared of big dogs, lol.) He jokingly put his arm around me and said "don't worry, I will protect you" and then started talking about how he will soon be visiting the area I live. I replied very shortly just in case he was being shady and left. After that he stared at me a lot but then left to take his drunk friend safely home while I was away in the bathroom. I know before he put his arm around me etc I was hugging my gay best guy friend but I'm not sure if this was jealousy-induced because he knew the guy is gay. (And a gay married one at that.) So why did he do that? He actually seemed like a sweet guy interested in me as a person, was very gentle and kind to others, quiet, not a flirtatious player type etc...so it definitely threw me off. I wanted to at least stay friends after but then that last bit made it weird. Edited June 6, 2016 by sv1123
whichwayisup Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Maybe he did like you a bit more than he should have but he has a girlfriend so you did the right thing by backing off. Forget him and find a guy who won't use you for an ego feed and flirt with you when he has a gf already. 1

smackie9 Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 IMO he was making a full on move...hoping to see if you could be his little dish on the side. He is a snake in the grass. This guy ain't lookin for friendship, stay away from him.
