enchanted771 Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 So reconnected with this guy I was chatting online with over a year ago. He mentioned a date and gave me his phone # to text. We were texting nonstop (almost) for 2 days. We are supposed to have a date tomorrow. He said he would text me yesterday afternoon-never did. So at night I sent a casual text. He replied an hour later with 5 texts but I was asleep so I replied and didn't hear back. Kind of a red flag when a guy says he will do something and doesn't. However, he isn't my boyfriend and he knows my ex was controlling so I don't know if he was trying to prove he isn't controlling type or just inconsiderate. Anyways, our date is supposed to be tomorrow. Just wondering if I should send a casual text in the afternoon and sees if he brings it up or should I let him contact me? It seems to me that if he is as eager as he claimed to be 2 days ago, he would have reached out to me. We were talking way too much before a date which takes away from convo starters on a first date. Maybe he is trying to play it cool.... What to do?
preraph Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Well, that's exactly what I was going to say. You don't want to text constantly before a date and then have nothing new to talk about! It's fine if you text him once briefly in the morning of your date and say "See you tonight at 8" or whatever time he told you. But don't be mad if he doesn't text back. That doesn't require an answer. It only requires he shows up. And if he doesn't, don't ever text him again.
