Grey40 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Alright ladies, need your advice here because I've heard mixed things. Met a girl on OKCupid, she's really interested in meeting in person and we just exchanged numbers. Should I call her or text her to setup plans? I've heard people say calling is better, but also heard that girls get creeped out by a call and would rather text. Should I text her first so she has my number saved and what not and then call like the following day or should my first form of communication via phone be the call?
Superman2024 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 If she's in her 20's or early 30's texting is just fine. I do it all the time and it works well. Most women I find online don't like talking on the phone anyway. If you really want to call her, I'd text her and set up a time. If the call goes well, then you're likely all set for meeting. If it doesn't go that great you'll hurt your chances of meeting in person, so I think texting is the safer way to go. Calls are okay but meeting in person is what counts. Once you're seeing someone regularly though, I recommend calling in between dates to keep a good connection going.
Jabron1 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Phone calls are completely unnecessary. Text her. Leave the real conversation for the date.
kendahke Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Call and set up the date. Doesn't mean you have to get into a protracted conversation. Texting is for managing people.
Shining One Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I've use the under 35 - text / over 35 - call rule.
ASG Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 33F here andI would probably not pick up a call from someone I don't know at all, even if I knew it was to set up a date... I'd text back, saying I just missed the call, when in fact, I probably screened it. 1
