Vado Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Dating is about having fun together, right? What do you guys do if she suddenly tells about a sad story, maybe a former boyfriend or something? Some say, those are things you share with bestfriends, not with a date. Only later, when she becomes your girlfriend, than it's ok. Wondering about your thoughts and how to respond...
LostOnes05 Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Depends on what it's about...Sometimes a story is just that. A way to lure you in to care for them. Other times, they may actually be opening up to you. But you have to watch their behavior and look at inconsistencies.
Emilia Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 dating is about getting to know the other person. Otherwise you choose each other on false pretenses. Be grateful that she is being honest with you from the start. I guess I don't really understand why you would want her to pretend to be someone else if you want a relationship. 1
Author Vado Posted May 29, 2016 Author Posted May 29, 2016 Probably because many guys might complain about 'being friendzoned'
tayriley Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 I really don't see what the big deal is. the only way it's a big deal is if she KEEPS bringing up her ex in different situations, on different dates, ALL THE TIME. that may indicate she isn't over him. if that ISN'T happening, then all she is doing is sharing her life with you. not a big deal, and to me, is her opening up to you. concentrate on the part where she is being honest with you about her past and her feelings. personally, i'd feel closer to a person if they shared their past with me. 1
Jiggs Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 It really does depend on the situation. If she keeps bringing up her ex, that could mean she's not over him and that could affect your relationship down the road. The important thing is to listen attentively and show her that what she says matters to you. You don't always need to have a response. Sometimes women just need someone to be there for them.
