moimeme Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 I dare ya. What is truth? Do you have it? Why do you think so? How do you know? What are 'facts'? What relationship do they have to 'truth'? Any idea? Convince me, please.
laRubiaBonita Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Truth is Fact, at the time. In Theory: "The writing on the Wall" Only problem is, some people read into it differently, read only parts, or do not even read it at all.
scared shy Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Pretty much all the honest truth telling in the world is done by children. ~Oliver Wendell I agree with this statement 100%.
d'Arthez Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 But even if that is true, kids can also tell lies. Provided that adults never tell the truth, and kids on occasion tell the truth, they are still the only ones to tell the truth on occasion.
laRubiaBonita Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 well Just cause someone THINKS something they know to be true, is true.....does not always mean it is a fact. Like for the longest time my sister believed it was true, that there were Hill Cows. my dad had told her that hill cows, have shorter legs on one side.....so that they can stand on the hill. and she thought this was true....but it was a lie my father had told her!
Opium Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 It's funny I'm trying to find a definition but their is no true specific definition for "truth", of course besides the one in the dictionary. All that comes to mind when I think of truth is: Truth is whatever you think you want to believe is the truth, truth is being honest with oneself and others.
Bronzepen Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Truth is what the majority agree upon. Once the balance tips then the truth is not acceptable able more.
d'Arthez Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 "A minority may be right, and a majority is always wrong." - Henrik Ibsen

lindya Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 I suppose for me truth involves considering various statements about a given matter (ie the matter I'm seeking the "truth" about) and choosing the one that seems most rational and persuasive. The statements or explanations I go with might not be the pure truth, but you work as best you can with the tools that are available.

Your question does not make sense to me. Why do you think so? How do you know? What are 'facts'? What relationship do they have to 'truth'? Any idea? Convince me, please. I am unable to provide you with an answer unless I understand what you are asking of me.

TheOptimist23 Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Moimeme, - Ultimate Truth is to be found in the deepest part of your heart. Relative truth is to be found everywhere else ! Such as the layers of illusion that most of human life is based on. - Everyone has it but whether they can find it or recognise is another matter. - Facts are relative truths. The best person to convince you is yourself ( if you can find you! )
Humbledog Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 "Truth is the love for a child"...Michael Jackson... :D
Humbledog Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I can say nothing, as you through your research have cornered me.......
tinktronik Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 the truth is , oh I dont know... and thats the truth
mini696 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 The truth is what I believe... It is the most important thing to have a strong relationship. Even if the truth is going to hurt someone, it has to be said, so they can make their own decisions on any matter.
