niceguy69 Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 So my gf broke up with me 3 months ago and we went out for 1.5 years. We are both 25. After 3 months I barely think of her at all now. So I consider myself "cured" now. But, every few days I have the same damn nightmare! I dream that my exgf and I are having sex. Then all of a sudden she says, "it was fun having sex but I don't love you anymore." Then I beg her to tell me why. Then her new bf comes in the scene and they both leave the room together and I am just sitting there in shock. Then I wake up! It sucks so much, I'm afraid to go to sleep unless I drink two 40's. The alcohol kills the demons I guess. I even had sex with a new girl a few times, but that didn't stop the dreams. So my question is, when do you stop dreaming about the ex? Does this mean I'm not really "cured" yet, or have I lost my mind?
pioneer Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Probably just stress or something causing it. defo wont last for ever
She_Devil Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Originally posted by pioneer Probably just stress or something causing it. defo wont last for ever I second that! Just work through do what you can. Drinking to kill the demons is not the best but it proves you are not "cured" of her so to speak! Good Luck.

NTB Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 the reason your dreaming about her is cause your not cured like you think....i have the same thing going on i don't dream but when the night comes and my mind stops racing all my thoughts go back to x........it sucks but i guess it will just take some time that's just my 2 cents anyway
broken guy Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 It has ALWAYS taken me a lon time to fall asleep but now I have to try and find a memory that does not involve her to fall asleep and that is hard to do. And when I wake up, early AGAIN, I have to try and get rid of her and I can say so far it has been 97% impossible. Yes, I look like crap and yes, I am putting on weight (not too much!) but I'm not dead....I think! When I get myself an income again, I reckon I will go and see my local shrnk again. I never went back to him as he didnt tell me anything useful, only to stop thinking about her as it would just hook me back. GREAT advice.....
