There's this girl who I met across the street from my building while she was walking her dog (Saturday). I had no idea she lived across the street, she's SUPER cute. I walked up to her, started a conversation. Everything went smooth and great.

I called her the following day (Sunday) instead of texting her because I know most guys text in the beginning, I didn't want to be like most guys. We spoke on the phone for about 20 mins, went great. We began texting the following day (Monday). We met up a few days later (Friday), hung out for about 2 hours. She's very into school and super busy with finals, like myself, which's a good thing because she's truly focused on herself. Anyway, I texted her Sunday (didn't text at all Saturday) and asked "hey how are you?" just to say hi. I get no response until now. What gives?

When we hung out, we spoke about school, career, what we like to do for fun. I told her I spend most of my time coding (I'm a computer science major) and solving math/physics problems as well as ride bike and play handball.

I've been getting rejected so many times now, I don't know what's wrong with me. It's starting to get me super depressed. Being a computer science major is difficult because it's very lonely and the work is tricky and time consuming. I thought this would be a chick I could spend some time with to get my mind off some stress. Should I text her back today or would that seem desperate? Should I call her? Why would she be ignoring me?

I think it's very apparent to her that you are relying on her for company and she doesn't want the pressure. How about making friends?

Does she have exams? If so that is your answer

Perhaps you spent too much time talking about past failures & that turned her off.

I would not text again. If you see her walking the dog again strike up a conversation but that's about it.

I forgot to mention that during the week, she texted me first all the time. I truly felt things were going to according to plan. I never showed any sign of desperation at all. I'm just so confused as to why this happens to me all the time. All I do is focus on my school & help my parents out with anything they need. Never did anything wrong to anyone in my life.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I guess that's the most ideal way to go about this situation. I didn't speak about past failures with her at all, why would I? Yes, she did say she's very busy with exams which is why I haven't texted her since Sunday. I'm hoping she would hit me up when she's done but I don't want to live with expectations.... I'm just so confused.

Sorry. I misunderstood the post. You mentioned what you did talk about. Then you were telling us here on LS that you spend time coding. I thought you told her that which was you already know mentioning past problems would be a turn off.

Since you know she has exams, assume that is the issue. School 1st.

People aren't like computers. The correct # of 1s & 0s doesn't always get you the result you want IRL

Haha, the last part of your response is golden. I guess I'm just gonna wait it out, I have nothing to lose at this point. I've been rejected by so many different women up until this point in my life, I'm so used to it by now. This pain is nothing new to me.

As guy who has been in similar situations with college girls, who knows. The way I look at things, school can be very demanding, or they may have other things going on to distract them (I think people always make time for what they want). It's too early to tell or get your hopes up although like I said I know the feeling. Don't get discouraged, just keep the lines of communication open and keep fishing.

Oh dear. Therein lies part of your problem. There shouldn't be pain yet Disappointment I'll grant you but pain implies an emotional investment on your part. You have to guard your heart a little better

Couldve been moving a little fast or since she initiated all week then you didnt text her Saturday she might be pulling back feeling like she was coming on too strong.

Relax. If you texted her last...wait a few days....

Ps. I think these days things move so fast. You barely even know eachother.

Wait til after exams and ask her if she wants to get together and celebrate the exams being over.

But for now you dont know eachothers style and expectations and texting every day with little face to face interraction is going to cause confusion.

Also this rejection thing you keep feeling might be something your projecting.

You might start showing signs of neediness if you dont address your confidence levels. Id try counseling for that and stop thinking every relationship will be for you or will blossom. Sometimes people arent a fit and it isnt about you or anything personal.

Believe in yourself and know a girl is there to conpliment you...not complete you. You have to find happiness alone not based on if you are in a relationship or not.
