Missthecountry2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 So I want to do something unique for my fiance to tell him how much I love him and appreciate all he does for our family! It's not his birthday or our anniversary, just want to do something random and unique to show my love. Hoping I can get some ideas? I thought about the idea of people from all over sending a card saying something like....we heard it all the way from (wherever you live) that she loves you! Then hand them all to him and say "I have officially told the world that I love you!" What unique ideas do you have? If anyone is willing to send a card or note saying something along those lines...message me. Otherwise I'm open to ideas! I truly love this man, he is my other half in life and my best friend. We have such an honest loving relationship, we've conquered our fair share of hurdles over time.....and I just want to do something sweet that he's not expecting to surprise him! Thanks in advance for help and/or ideas!
todreaminblue Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 when i used to want to surprise a bf.......in general conversations i would quiz him...ask a question here or there...really random stuff stuck in the middle of our everyday conversations ..like what is one thing you wish you never lost....for him it was a rolling stone issue that had a special on tina turner....and i hunted one down in the usa and waited until i knew he had had a really tiring rough day at work......and i gave it to him and said...i know today has been crap so I saved this for you to open... i feel that what was more special is that i knew he had a rough day not by him telling me but by the tone ofhis voice when we spoke on the phone how tired and stressed he sounded......i feel the most special gift you can give anyone doesnt have words attached...even though i often wrote him poetry...its really special to have an understanding of the person and what they love how theya re feeling even when they dont say the words.......how they tick and how to make a rough day ....a little easier...i feel that is one of the best times to give a gift to lift a heart you love and that heart who loves you..to make a grey day your guy might be having...brighter......deb
Phoenician Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Has he ever expressed a desire or a wish that is achievable to you but you never did it ? if you really love him , just do it even if you hate it , Men adores givology .
Toodaloo Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 I would suggest that first off you read a book called the 5 love languages or take a test on line to find out which his is. Its easy enough to google. Then once you know which is his primary language you can go from there to think of something really special that will mean a lot to him. Its all very good and well getting strangers to send him a card but what happens if his "language" speaks in a different way? If he feels most loved when you touch him this would seem a bit freaky to him. And vice versa, if you go leaping on him with a basque and suspenders when he likes to be told you love him... well he may just go running for the hills. The point is that there are thousands of ways to tell him you love him but if you can do your research to ensure that you are showing your love in a way that he can understand then it will have a much greater impact. 1
SammySammy Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Whatever you do, make sure it reflects who he is. His personality, likes, dislikes, hobbies, interests and so forth. Something that shows you've paid attention to him and considered what he may like or want. Then, just SHOW him that you appreciate him daily. Just knowing that my lady loves and appreciates me would mean more to me than any surprise gift or activity. 3
PrettyEmily77 Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Love your idea, OP  Would have happily participated but can't use PMs yet until you have clocked enough posts / spent enough time here on the forum (also perhaps not so useful if we happen to live down the road from each other!). Other than that, you could tell him in your own words, coming from the heart, face-to-face and using specific meaningful examples of stuff you remember him doing especially well, how much he means to you at a totally impromptu moment (in the middle of watching a film or in a car-ride or whatever). He'll then know for sure how much you appreciate him and how every little thing he does for you and your family gets noticed. Whenever I do that to my SO, he says it touches him more than any gift ever will (but he doesn't mind the gifts either!).

Thanks in advance for help and/or ideas! I really really don't like your idea, at all. To me it puts the spotlight on you, not on him. I am sure as a girl you would appreciate your bf going around convincing your friends and family to message you about him but I doubt it is something a boyfriend would consider fun or loving. A show of love does not need to be grandiose to make an impact on someone. This weekend my bf gave me a card, out of the blue, in which he expressed how much he is thankful I am in his life. It was personal, intimate, and it came from the bottom of his heart. That meant a million times more than if he had gone around convincing my family to message me about him. 1
d0nnivain Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 I don't know many guys who would like the cards. That's right up there with making your guy a scrapbook. They are gifts women would enjoy receiving. A backrub & a BJ would be your best bet. Anything sex related would probably do the trick. A night of spoiling him would also work: do something for him he loves but is not your favorite thing. If it's in the budget & he's a car guy rent him an exotic sports car or get him a stock car racing experience. 1
SilverAccount Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Simple way to a mans heart what he loves are two things: Food and sex. Haha, simple us man are. 2
