So I like to call my friends with benefits babe. Sometimes I'll text her, "hey babe". How do you all feel about that? It's my first time having this kind of relationship so I'm no sure if that's a no go with fwbs.

If you wait around here long enough you will probably see a new thread titled, "Help my fwb is calling me babe.. does he have feelings for me??"

The lines can become a bit blurred when you start getting too affectionate and"coupley"with each other, it just happens.

Some people may not see babe as a big deal but others would see it as something else. What matters is how she takes it. Just make sure you are both on the same page and communicate.

Be honest with yourself though if you do start to develop feelings for her as someone else might snap her up.

It depends on her.

I would personally feel a bit uncomfortable with it, as only boyfriends have called me "babe" or other such pet names in the past. I preferred to keep my interactions with FWBs very platonic, outside the bedroom.

Is she responsive to it? Does she have any pet names for you?

Yeah, I think it's really a case-by-case basis. I had a FWB a couple of years ago, and he called me things like "baby girl," and "honey pie," but he was also a big coke head, so it was pretty easy not to take anything he said seriously. He'd make comments if we were out in public and I try and put my hand on his back, that it was too "coupley," but for me, that was just a reaction of the natural affection I felt towards him, not so much because we were sleeping together.

Anyway, maybe ask her if she minds. If you're boning, you should be able to have a conversation about pet names.

I hate pet names anyway, but I'm especially careful to avoid them with my fwb. If she were to use pet names for me it would seem odd and inappropriate. Just my $0.02

My FWB calls me by pet names sometimes. I'm sure he does it to his other friends as well, and don't read much into it.

I don't usually call FWBs by pet names, though.

Hahaha yeah he had a nickname, "porno dick"

Personally I forgo the pet names with a FWB, I like to keep things VERY clear as to where the lines are drawn - my fwb's get treated like a friend I have sex with.

I don't give my friends terms of endearment like babe and hun....

I might say "whats up handsome" but never call my FWB "honey"
