Hi there LS.

LSS(as much as possible...):

...so recently, I posted a threat about my breakup, which happened about a year+1/2 ago. The breakup was definitely a trigger for me to go into a depression. Some of you read it and have been very supportive along this journey. I broke up with him for good reason, but i was still sad while "standing my ground"... At this point I'm gradually getting better in terms of not thinking about the break up as much, not feeling guilty and getting back to my more active self (exercise and just being outdoors)... with the help of an anti-depressant, might I add for the first time in my life.

Ffwd: I've gone out with several guys during this journey. 2 weekends ago i went out with 3 different guys. We DID NOT get physical. Two of them kissed me on the cheek(I didn't kiss back). The other guy gave a nice tight hug. They've all been gentlemen and nice. However, I didn't feel anything for them. Is that normal? Maybe there's something about these guys that's just not right for me and vice versa.. And yes, sometimes my ex sometimes still pops up in my mind...

One of the new guys has been contacting me every day, via text. Just kind hellos, sometimes cute little jokes and him just asking about how my day is going and he asked about doing something again this weekend. We'll see. If not then maybe it's for the best. I don't wanna lead him on.

I feel numb in a sense. Is that normal when trying to move on romantically? Thanks

Well, "normal" is relative to each individual.

However, from reading what you said about your past experiences meeting men, I think the way you're feeling about these guys right now is pretty healthy.

If they start expecting something of you that you're not willing to give on your own volition, then it may be time to reassess the situation to avoid leading any of them on. You can't force yourself to feel something that's not there.

I'm having somewhat of a similar situation as you. Broke up with my ex gf in the beginning of feb. We were together for 1 year+, broke up and then another few years of on and offs. Officially ended in February this year.

Been trying to get her off my mind but she has never left my mind since day 1 of break up. :/

2 weeks ago, I had a guy friend confessed to me that he has liked me for a very long time. He tried asking me out for a date, which I agreed in order to get my ex off my mind. But it didn't work. He tried telling me how much he wants to be with me, and didn't mind being my rebound all that stuff. But I know deep down, I'm not ready for all these yet.

I'm practically numb. I don't feel anything for anyone anymore. I only want my ex. :( It's been 3 months...

I'm sorry to hear about your post breakup heart ache. I'm just checking this post. I was in such a dark place when i was posting these Threads....I'm a bit better now, but it's taken almost 2 years and some therapy.

I've met a few new guys and been out of several dates, but I'm telling you....this love stuff is hard to shake when you thought it'd be forever... I'm staying to realize he'll always be somewhere in the back of my mind and heart. It's still sad sometimes, but what can ya do...

Trust me i understand. Question. Are you bisexual? If so, I'm sure you have more of a chance of finding someone sooner than later.

Let me know how you're doing.
