skin changes with age. Just cuz its permenent doesn't mean its going to look the same.

This is also true. And that's the thing with Tattoos. Once you hit a certain age (better yet, look a certain age), it does not matter how much or how little tattoos you have because it just does not look good. But Jay is young and already has tattoos, so might as well get more.

I never considered getting a tattoo in my life because I did not want to be that old guy with tattoos one day. It just makes you look like and old guy that is uncool who is trying to be young and cool.

i wasn't a fan of tattoos & prefered my man without it. however - when i met my current partner... he was wearing a suit (dress shirt). at one point he rolled his sleeves up & i saw he had tattoos from wrists and up... and i LOVED it, to my great shock. i loved his tattooes even more after i found out their meaning, i find them extremely attractive.

BUT it's because it's HIM. i wouldn't like those same tattooes on some other dude. it's the way he carrys them and the way they look at HIM.

"It is estimated that close to 25% of the U.S. population has some sort of tattoo. Eventually, as many as 50% of them want to have laser tattoo removal."

Do not get too carried away, tattooing can become a obsessive "hobby", but real life intervenes and I suppose that is why laser removal clinics are so busy and the business is booming.

I have some heavy ink, a 3 quarter sleeve on one arm and a half on the other. I'm contemplating going all the way down to my wrist on one arm, but if that turns away too many nice gals, I wouldn't wanna do it.

What do you think when you first see a guy with tattoos, how much is too much?

Do what you want. Coming from the perspective of a dude who isn't into ink himself... I think you should pass.

The 3/4 sleeve you have right now is relatively versatile. Wear a suit and no one knows. Wear the sleeves rolled up and there's a preview. Wear a tank top and everyone knows. You control their visibility. You can look different ways at different times. Going down to the wrists is a big step forward in terms of commitment, you're always the guy with the tattoos. So I don't think it's worth it regardless of what women think.

Just think about it as a matter of options. With your current ink you have more options. If you go down to the wrist you'll have less options. Why not maximize your options?

I don't like them in unprofessional areas: face, neck, hAnds.

I'm a forearm addict, and prefer those to be ink free. Its sort of like an ugly tattoo on beautiful cleavage for me--a shame.

Otherwise, I find tattoos hot.

A nice forearm beats a cute ass anyday! :lmao:

More opportunity to ogle.

Forearm ogle?

Yep. Nurses, in particular, have a tendency to do it. Veins!

It's an indication of a guy who works with his hands. Or is one hell of a guitar player.

I'm w/ GunslingerRoland, heavily tattooed women really "catch my eye". I think it has to do w/ their commitment to an alternate lifestyle, maybe??

I only have two tattoos, each represent an important event in my life. The tribal that covers most of my back represents the breakup w/ the girlfriend who had her whole back tatted. Go figure...

Ok, another thing bout ink I can't stand?

Answer: People who do it to try to be cool or something and/or without thinking.

Justin Bieber's Tattoo Artist Reveals The Meaning Behind His Face Tat - MTV

Unfortunately on AOL I ran across Justin Bieber being an idiot again. I mean, years ago on SNL I was like 'look at this sweet young boy...how nice'. Now, he's just trying too hard to be a "man" I guess?

He broke out with endless stupid tattoos and now put one on his face. Well, I guess as a celebrity he can get away with stupid stuff like that.

I was thinking about that lately. My current guy has not one, and I hope he never gets one. I still like tattoos and all that, but it's not necessary for me to be attracted to a guy and actually, in the case of my current guy, I hope he never feels a "need" to get one...IMO, too many people just getting tattoos "just because" - having nothing to do with art and/or sheer interest in ink.

I used to date some hair band type guys who had a lot of ink. I certainly have no moral qualms about it, so the whole "good girl" thing seems irrelevant to me. However, I will tell you that I would have been more attracted to them if they had been like 90% ink free because I think skin is much more sexy than ink. I am not tempted to touch ink. I always go for the bare spots.

And as far as practical considerations, while just about everyone has a little tat these days, you can and will ink yourself right out of the job market if you get carried away. Because ink is self-expression and if it's extreme, then so are you, and that's not what most people are looking for in an employee.

Meh, I agree in part. I mean, I have a lot of tattoos but I am professional. So I have my "wild" side and my very "conservative" and tamed side. Maybe the conservative/tame side is what prevents me from putting a tattoo on my neck/face and/or going to work sporting my tattoos. So yes, I wouldn't take someone seriously in the professional world if they don't have enough sense to cover up their stuff.

I do love my tattoos.. I have quite a few but I don't go in for "mass tattoos" or big patterns and that. Mine are all small individual pieces or quotes/words.

I don't really go for the very inked look on girls, I prefer at less is more!

But for me its mostly about the story, if its got a meaning, if its got a story and if they love it - then I'm gonna dig it too.

I've never been a fan of the guy, I think he needs to do a lot of growing up but on this issue I feel sorry for him!

I have two face tattoos, one small one by my eye (not dissimilar to his really) and one about the size of a 50p on my jaw (that I can cover with a beard). And no one has ever said anything to me about it, its my body, my face, I can do what I want. If people don't like them, they keep it too there selves. I think being a celebrity has stopped him 'getting away with it'. People are acting like they have a right over what he can or cant do to his own body! The guys not free!
